There are three links on either side of the closure mechanism
marked with an arrow. These are the ones to remove. If you only
need to remove one link, remove it from the six o'clock side of the band. If more than one, then try to balance, one from each side, etc.

The easiest way to remove individual links is with a "link remover"
tool of the sort used by jewelers. These are not expensive. The other way is to get a very small, slim diameter finishing nail and
position the sharp head of the nail in the slightly recessed hole of the link to be removed. The watch band should be perpendicular on a wooden table. Gently pound the nail downward with a hammer. If you're skillful, and lucky, you can get a 1/16" or more of the retaining pin to protrude from the other end. Now, use needle-nose pliers to gently twist and rock the protruding nub of the pin, and try to pull it out. Good luck with that.

You'll need to remove two retaining pins for each link, or consecutive run of links, that you're removing. Then reconnect
and line up the remaining links and (gently) insert and/or pound
one of the removed retaining pins back into the hole to keep the watch band assembly intact.

Again, good luck!

How to set time on m.z. berger wrist watch

Hi Hollywoo,
As far as I can see Berger watches all have what I would call a winder knob. You normally pull this out gently and then turn it to move the hands of the watch - ie: to set the time. When finished just push it back in.

Set time on mz berger aw 205 388 sport watch

I just got a M.Z. Berger AW206 366 so the setup should be identical.
The watch has four buttons total. I'll name then by their positions. Top Left (TL), Top Right (TR), Bottom Left (BL), and Bottom Right (BR).
(BL) is your mode switch. Press it once at a time to toggle between modes, (Time, Chronograph, and Alarm). From the Time mode press (BL) three times. This will put you back in time mode with the seconds flashing. Press (TR) to toggle seconds back to '00'. Press (BR) to toggle to the next setting point, and (TR) to advance it. Just keep pressing (BR) until all the settings points are the way you want them. Note: In time setting mode it only advances the setting forward when you press (TR). So when using it to change hours display for 12/24 hour display or daylight savings time you just have to keep advancing the hour until it shows up correct. There is no DST or 12/24 display toggle on this watch. You just have to change the hours display manually. To exit time setting just press (BL) once.

Need to add links to a new Elgin watch band. The number on back of watch is SR626sw

That's the battery number for the watch also known as the #377. It's the most common watch battery in the world. Your model number is located at the bottom of the dial (face) below the six-o'clock position. You will need a 10 power jeweler's loupe or magnifying glass to see it and read it. Jot down the number and contact Elgin directly (MZ Berger Co,) for the extra links.
