change the cassette settings and bypass settings to letter size. sometimes there is a wheel inside the cassette itself, turn it until you see the letter size.

The duplexer unit is located at the bottom of the printer. You have to remove the paper cassette first. Second, tilt the printer a little on the back side. In place of paper cassette, you will see an iron plate with a green handle in the left. Push down on the handle and the plate will go down. You may find paper jam there or pice of paper stucked. Release the handle and put back the printer and paper cassete, then open top cover and close it down. You may have paper jammed also under developer unit, or in the fuser section. Verify there, if the first solution won't solve the problem.

The message you get is from the fuser setting for printing envelope. At the back of the printer, you have a handle wich opens the back dor. There is located the fuser (fixing unit) that will slide back. On left and right of the fuser, you can see 2 green buttons. In your case one of them or both are pressed. If you press one time, the button goes down. If you press again, the buton rise up. Try to press them down.

It is normal to do this "adding toner" operation aprox. 20 minutes. You have to wait until the printer enters in "ready" status. Take a little brake and relax, your printer needs to fill/refill the developer unit with toner dust from the cartridge.

Try choosing an HP driver for the setup that normally works.

Load the status moitor utility and using that you can set the bypass paper size to match the envolpe size you are using.
