Sony TV channel stuck on 56 I need it on channel 3

I have a 1986 Sony TV model number KV-2775R. We don't have the remote control for it. We have been using the Cable remote and when we first got cable on it, it took the TW Tech about 20 min. and he finally got the TV on channel 3, but he didn't know how he got there. This time when I started messing with it the channels jumped from 2 to 4 and on up about 10 to 15 channels ending on 64. I gave the remote to my husband an somehow he got it stuck on channel 56 ( and he doesn't know how?).
The nobs and buttons on the TV itself are from left to right...
nob: video or ext-audio / nob: Auto Stereo; on or off (mono) / button: MTS / nob: sharpness / nob: brightness / nob: color / nob: hue / button: picture - / button: picture + / button: erase / button: add / nob: Cable; on or off / button: Timer/block / button: TV or Video / button: volume - / button: volume + / button: channel - / button:channel + / button: power

I can't use the channel up / down buttons because the TV is locked on channel 56. I also tried to put in channel 3 using the Time Warner cable remote control. I also tried using the channel up / down buttons on the cable remote control. nothing is working. Somehow we have gotten the TV locked on 56?

sorry, I don't have an auto tuning / auto search button. All I have are the buttons and nobs that I listed in my original question?

Thank you, for your help. I was hopping that the problem could be solved without getting the remote but that was your suggestion that we already thought we would have to do. Thanks though cause the price would have been much steeper if we had taken it anywhere.

Please check Auto Search / Auto Tuning button and press it.
This action will erase stored data in memory and write new presets data.
