I have the USB connector. It doesn't do anything when I connect it to the recorder and the USB port. What do I do to download my video to my computer? Help. I am not great with the computer.

Hi, You should connect using 4 pin Firewire cable to download the video. Also use Windows Movie Maker software.

How can I get it from showing in Safeguard Mode? Please help, hopefully there is someone out here can help me.

Hi,
in this JVC cameras there is a self diagnostic system, when the cameras function is abnormal this dialogue will appear on the screen, try to spray little contact cleaner inside the mode selector switch which is lying below the mechanism. first eject the cassette mechanism disconnect the power look carefully at the left side of the mech , use CRC spry , wait for a five minutes , power ON and test the system.

JVC Digital Camera focus

Did it work before? If so then it sounds like the focus motor/screw jack has failed and needs replacing. With some JVCs you can replace the whole lens system and a new one will re-calibrate itself, but I'd have to check on this model.

Uploading issues from JVC mini GR-D770U

As I understand it your computer needs either a firewire port or a 4 or 6 pin DV port depending on what type of connector is on the computer end of the DV cable you purchased.

Transfer movie from mini tape to computer - JVC.....well, hello i found that people have the same problem i do i;ve got this JVC digital camera GR-D770U...and unfirtunately i don't have a software disc...

You can download user manual in PDF format from this link:
http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/JVC/GR-D770U-_E
but that's not a point. The point is that you can use any video editing software (with no driver), that accepts capture mode starting from standard Windows Movie Maker for beginners to CyberLink PowerDirector, Ulead DVD MovieFactory or similar. This can be made by plugging your camcorder to PC via USB or FireWire (iLink, IEEE1394). Of course you can record to Digital Video Unit Equipment (DVD recorder) if you have one. Good luck!

Upload video

The USB on your camcorder is for downloading still pictures only. If you want to transfer video to your computer you need to hook up a firewire cable, which is to the right of the USB connection. Firewire is also known as 1394 connection.

Hope it helps.
