Blinking Light on Mitsubishi SL4SU Projector

When I plug in my projector The status and power lights both light up red. The status light stays on as red, but the power light blinks red then blinks green. This is all it does - no fan, no light through the lense. I know the projector is old, but we have several others in our school district that are working find. All ideas wold be great!

To jmatthews

Both power light and status light a solid red with no response to any buttons indicates the bulb timer has expired. You need to reset the timer by pressing and holding the left arrow key, the right arrow key and the power button all at the same time for a few seconds.

If there are no problems, the projector will fire up, but you must replace the bulb as it will fail soon and perhaps explode when it does.

Take care

We have exactly the same problem. One of your fans is broken, we have taken it apart to compare with a working model, bit of trial and error needed as there are a few fans. Mitsubishi should be able to fix it - the fans cost £20 and then there is labour on top of it. Unless you can find a fan to replace the broken one.

My projector won't turn on, only the power light shows red, the status light is blank. Tried the remote and manually turning it on.

Hello
If the power light is ON and status light is OFF; check if any objects are blocking the air inlet or outlet grill, and remove them if any, and carry out the following.
[1] Unplug the power cord from wall outlet.
[2] Make sure that the projector has cooled off.
[3] Plug the power cord into the wall socket.
[4] Press the power button.
Check whether the cooling fan has stopped. The problem is with overheating itself.
If these does not help you, your projector need service. OK.

Powers on for only a few seconds

if the power light blinks and the status light is off, check the lamp door. if the power light blinks and the status light is steady red or blinking green, you have a power supply/ballast issue. you may have to send it in for repair. try www.avsolutionsny.com.
