This video covers how to fix a Panasonic 42" Plasma TV model TH-42PX600U that has vertical distorted ...
Does these lines show up when you are in the menu? If so I would say that your logic board is defective. If the lines are not present in the menu you should look at replacing the main board. The good thing is, your panel is just fine.
One of your "X" buffer boards is defective. In Panasonic plasma tv's they are located at the bootom of the set and connect directly to the plasma diplay panel via a thin ribbon cable. The board you want to replace will be directly in line with the discolored vertival line in the picture. The part number is on the circuit board and usualy starts with "tnp..." or "txp..."
EASY! ok the 4th video processing unit is malfunctioning, if it is a Piano affect like the keys on the piano, then that can be fixed under your 1year warrenty after your 1year warrenty it will cost $200, but i could be wrong, i never studied panasonic plasma casue they ****, next time get a samsung.
the worst contrast and video ajustments, thats a panasonic.
Because of the complexity of these sets, the fault can be much more than just a bad IC. These sets are serviced at the board level. After changing the board, calibration is done as necessary.
The fault may be in the matrix power driver output area, or in the plasma screen back-plane layer itself. This has to be determined by the process of elimination.
I can tell you in advance that this will not be a low cost repair.

All I can tell you is that you maybe have left your T.V. on a channel that didn't move for so long, or maybe someone else did and it burnt the screen. Plasma's run off of plasma gas to create the great picture and they collect on the screen and stick. What you need to do is go to your menu and look for "screen burn protection" and put it on white and let it sit for 20 minutes. All of one color such as white doesn't harm your T.V. The only way anything burns is like a bright white line in front of a black background.
This is probably caused by the small signal board. It controls and decodes the picture information before it is sent to the display panel. It can be fixed by a quailified technician and if you contact philips (this is who makes magnavox) they will tell you the closest certified technician. Hope this helps.
Unfortunately you probably have a bad lcd panel. This is caused by the heat of the panel releasing the solder that holds the ribbon cable that supplies the picture information to the panel. A lcd panel is more often than not, more expensive than getting a new tv, also the new tv will come with a warranty. Most of the unit I have had this problem with were uneconomical to repair. Sorry for the bad news, Hope this helps.
One stationary 2 inch vertical white rectangle, about a foot long from the bottom of the screen. Never goes away, never moves.
What is wrong with this Plama TV.
