Won't turn on
This no power problem on the G7 is most often causes by a loose screw in the camera which shorts it out leaving the camera not powering on. If you need to have it serviced, a great place for these is: www.camerasandparts.com All they service are the Canons and the work through them is superb. That no power repair through them is $89 with parts / labor included, the servicing for the camera covered, plus the shipping going back is included. The best part is they do a correction inside the camera so this doesn't keep happening. If you need help with it, they'd be the place for this one. Good luck with it.

Same issue happened on Saturday. Only difference was the lens cover didn't completely shut when I tried to turn it off. I turned it on then off again and the cover shut....but it wouldn't turn back on. I fully charged the battery, but nothing. Tried two different batteries.
I was going to take mine in today to Wolf Camera in CO where I bought it.
Note that the camera was fully cleaned and and a new lense added less than a month ago by Canon (through the warranty program through Wolf)
Thougths?
Did anyone get any feedback?

It may be the SD memory card causing the problem. I just bought a G7. When I turned it on without an SD card, no problem. I put it my old cheap SD card and it wont turn on. I take out the memory card and battery, then insert the Canon SD card and battery and turn it on, no problem.
Hope this helps someone.

That's a loose screw issue inside the G7 and the G9 that is common. The best place I know to get help for that one would be camerasandparts.com They just specialize in the powershots and they are awesome if you need help with one of these. Best of luck, they have your exact G7 no power problem right there on their site. I hope that helps.
