I had the same problem. It is the capacitors. You can fix this yourself if you have a saudering gun. It is very easy and costs about $10 or less. You can even buy a cheap saudering gun. You just have to replace the bad ones and it will work fine after.

SOURCE: the infor on my tv is: model code LNT5271FX/XAA

Definitely a problem caused due to faulty power supply board. Most likely cause, faulty capacitors(electrolytic/surface mount or both) on the power supply board. The easiest way to fix it would be to replace the power supply board. Replacment board costs about 75-100$ for a set of this size.Would you like to replace it yourself?

When you turn on the TV it takes about 20 to fully turn on. sometimes we get pink lines on the screen.

If that doesn't help. Unplug everything and "start over" with your set up. Go back and reset the TV to the orig defaults. Then start with your satellite connection first. If that works, connect the DVD player, etc. good luck
