I have a ~7 year old Frigidaire refrigerator (model number FRS26R2AW5) that has the problem of getting too cold on the fridge side. Even with the temperature set as warm as it goes the temp stays around 20 deg F. From searching online, the most common problem is the thermostat for the defrost. Since it was only $16 I ordered it and replaced the part. I tested the old part when I took it out and it seems to be fine though. I got up this morning and everything is frozen again. The next potential culprits seem to be either the dampers (which seem to work every time I adjust the controls) or the control board. Either of these parts is over $150, more than I’m willing to just blindly throw at it. Can anyone help me troubleshoot my problem? Thanks, I would love to get another 2-3 years of service out of this before replacing.
Here is a low tech, simple and cheap solution. Get a plug in timer that has control pegs every half hour. Set it to turn on and off every half hour and plug the fridge into that. Worked for me after trying evry other solution.
If the dampers are closing when you select warmer temp with the fridge temp control, there really isn't a way for the cold air to enter the fridge. Check to make sure the damper isn't opening back up after a while.

I would have someone look at the damper switch and damper door. That is what controls the freezer's cool air going into the refrigerator side.
