Belt going..
A bit of a pain to replace, but doable..
Belt dressing will keep it going for a while..
Dont get your fingers caught in it..
Serious injury is possible, unplug the machine
and stand on the plug while moving the
belt to goop it..
(why? that way it cant get plugged in!)

Hi!
looks like you have a defective motor or a leaked load capacitor .....you need to get the motor rewired....or get a new motor for your washer..... have the capacitor checked....
but ya the issue is 1 of the 2....faulty cap/motor
Cheers!

The symptoms you describe are typical of a broken motor coupling. The following link explains how to replace one:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r385250-replacing_motor_coupling_kenmore_top
The motor coupling resides in between the drive motor and gearcase (transmission). They often can wear out over time and break. Some of the original couplers were made totally of plastic and the center hole would either round out and free spin on the motor shaft, or crack and shear apart. Manufacturers have since come out with a new improved coupler with a steel grommet in the center that resists breaking. The part number is included in the link I provided.
If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know before rating the solution. I hope this helps you.
Hello, Welcome to FixYa.
Based on your post I understand you have a problem with a Frigidaire washer that has had the wrong "soap" placed in it.
If you can remove the lower panel on the front you should inspect and insure the shock absorbers are still intact and not broken before proceeding. This is what you'll be looking for...(yours may in fact be plastic cylinder type shocks, that's the older version)
If they are not broken then it should be safe to proceed. Here's what I'd suggest (see below).
Let me know how that works for you and we can move forward from there if this doesn't resolve the problem.
When oversudsing has occurred, have the washer cleaned out by running it without clothing using a hot water wash (with cold water rinse) & ½ gallon of white vinegar. If problem persist after, run a cold water rinse using 1 gallon of white vinegar.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
