When I click on a email link on a webpage it opens up the email in gmail. I would like to have outlook as the default email client for web based email links
Follow the below mentioned steps to set Outlook as your default email client.
Steps for Windows 7 and Vista -
- Click Start and in Start search box type 'default programs'.
- In Search results, click default programs under Programs.
- Now click on 'Set your default programs' and highlight Microsoft Outlook.
- Click on 'Set this program as default' and click OK.
Steps for Windows XP and earlier platforms -
- Start Internet Explorer. Select Tools -> Internet Option -> Programs tab.
- Under Email, select Microsoft Outlook and click OK.

Open Outlook 2007 (don’t laugh, but I need to clarify that you’re in Oultook 2007), and Tools>Options, /Preferences tab, /Contact Options (b) and check “Show Contact Linking on all Forms" box, /ok, /ok.
This information was put online by Jennifer Kershaw. I do not use outlook 2007 but found this answer by surfing for you. I hope this helps.
