There may be a format issue with the material. If the English songs are in NTSC format and the Hindi are in PAL format, then depending upon what mode the Magicsing is in one group will play but other will not.
Here is a PDF file of the manual. See page 2-02 for info on how to shift from NTSC to PAL.
I found it on ebay...http://cgi.ebay.com/EMERSON-NE616UE-TV-REMOTE-CONTROL-CR202EM9-ORIGINAL-/380285683747?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item588acb0823#ht_1223wt_936

You need to check, that BOTH units are set to correct video format, IE: NTSC of PAL. The Connections are wired up correctly, the Correct External INPUT has been selected on the TV. Remember you do NOT use "Channels" to view Externally connected devices. You always wire color to color on both ends of the equipment. Please follow the manual.
Assuming your DVD player is properly connected to the video and audio inputs of the TV, you should be able to press the "input select" button on the remote and toggle between TV and DVD. A copy of your manual is here:

Make sure your TV is a PAL unit. The easiest place would be to look in the owners manual. If you no longer have it, there should be a PDF format online. It should tell you what cable you need.
