If your iPad was properly jailbroken, Cydia is automatically installed on your device. If you do not see Cydia as one of the Apps, either it was never properly jailbroken or you accidentally deleted the app. In either case, go through the jailbreaking process again. Make sure your iOS version is supported by the jailbreak program.

Also, anytime you update your iOS version, you will lose your jailbreak. It's never a good idea to update iOS unless you know the new version is supported by the jailbreaking programs. It is possible, a bit tricky, but possible. First, you'll need to download the Netflix app through iTunes on your computer, this will make it show up as "purchased" in your library. After that, open up the App Store on your iPad 1 and go to the 'purchased' tab. When you try to install it this way it will tell you that you need iOS 6 or higher, but will also ask if you would like to download an older version of the app. then click on download.

1) Open up iTunes on your computer
2) Go to Store (left hand column) ->iTunes Store
3) Search for Netflix; - download the app
4) then open App Store on your iPad
5) Click on 'Purchased'
- you will have to install NetFlix by clicking on it as usual.
App Store will ask you: "Download an older version of this app. The current version requires iOS 6.0 or later, but you can download the last compatible version.",
then click on Download and it should finally work.

Dont Jailbreak the iPad. Wait for IOS8.... it's nearly here.
There will be a lot more configurability in IOS8.
If you want to fiddle with the OS innards then get an Android OS device. It's easier to customise if thats what your after.

The only way to get Cydia application is by having your device jailbreak.
If you already have your device jailbreak, and you still do not see the Cydia; which would be due to an error on the device or the IOS version you used.
What you should do is re-jailbreak and from the options just tick on install cydia only.
