Automatic language options
Detect language automatically Applies to these 2007 Microsoft Office system programs: Outlook and Word.
The Detect language automatically option in Outlook and Word can automatically detect the language that you are typing in and enable the proofing tools for that language. This has the same result as if you manually set the language.
Note Occasionally if there are not enough words in a particular language or if the words are spelled the same in a number of languages, the Detect language automatically option may incorrectly identify the language. For example, the word "centre" is spelled the same way in both English (United Kingdom) and French. If you are having problems with the incorrect language being identified, try turning the Detect language automatically option off and setting the language manually. okay well you can hit new spelling and hit apply, the word may just be obscure and not loaded on the spell check dictionary.

It is not automatic because of the fact that there are sum words which are not in dictionaries, like names, objects etc..

so after writing the whole letter juss a single click wuld chk the spellings and you can correct ones you want correction with.

You can also use a third party spelling checker for automatic check of all the text written by you.

Open ms word 2007 then go to tools -> autocorrect
then disable check box for which you not want autocorrect.

I use Word 2003 and it automatically checks spelling AND spacing between words.

Under Tools>Options>Spelling&Grammer tab check the boxes that say "Check spelling as you type", "Always suggest corrections", "Check Grammar as you type", and "Check Grammer with spelling".

To turn off automatic spelling corrections and all automatic formatting:

1. On the 'Tools' menu, click 'AutoCorrect'
   
2. Clear the 'Automatically correct spelling and formatting as you type' check box.
   

Tip: To specify options for checking spelling, on the 'Word' menu, click 'Preferences', and then under 'Authoring and Proofing Tools', click 'Spelling and Grammar'.

actual steps are

1. Tap Settings > General > Keyboards.
2. Set the Auto-Correction setting to Off.

If you are using Microsoft Word, the spelling is automatically checked and the text or word will have a red underline if it is incorrect.
