Last night as I was playing with the "menu" settings of my television, I came accross a function titled "digital set up." My television was working fine, hooked up to a time warner cable box, when I clicked on the function "digital set up" I suddenly lost the picture. A message appeared stating that "digital channels were not found." The message also stated that if I wanted I can pick the digital channel set up, but it will take up to 50 minutes. Lastly, the the message also stated that if I wanted to return to analog settings to press the "analog/digital" button on my controller. I decided to do so, and then my picture turned to a static picture. Measure taken: I've disconnected the television and cable box from the electrical outlet, nothing occured. At this point I don't know what to do.
Unplug the set for 12 to 24 hours. if that does not help, go into channel search but make sure the cable box is plugged in and turned on. If that does not work call out a tech to sort out your problem. Experimenting is fun at times, no insult intended, but its not the best thing to do with a TV set.

A digital TV handles the color in three channels, red green and blue. Your TV has a problem on the red channel. That causes pictures getting yellowish. The computer functions can compensate the fault, but that is not a solution. If the problem happens on every input and also with internal tuner, then the logic circuits that elaborate video signal are defective. The main board is usually replaced to fix the problem. Before replacing the main digital board the technician can check if any repairable fault is found. A contact in one of the input for example may short the circuit affecting one of the color channels. In that case the tech will only need to resolder the connector on board to fix the problem. More commonly the whole board must be replaced.
Please fallow bellows instruction to retune your TV. Could you please follow that EEPROM RESET INSTRUCTION OR FIRST TME INSTALLATION. Also please don’t forget that MENU BUTTON from your remote, it’s not the one in the middle of remote. There are the other MENU BUTTON in left down bottom side. Cannot access Digital TV and am asked for a Lock code Key? If you cannot access the Digital TV option then conduct an EEPROM RESET as mentioned above. If you are prompted to enter a lock code key enter three / four zeros. Alternatively when prompted to enter the lock code key conduct a FIRST TIME INSTALLATION also mentioned above. There are two options available. The first option is to conduct a general reset that will reset all user preferences. The second option would be to conduct an EEPROM RESET. An EEPROM RESET would reset all the internal hardware.

Make sure you have properly conducted a FIRST TIME INSTALLATION and an AUTOMATIC SEARCH. If having done this you can try conducting a manual search in an attempt to force / lock the channel. Having more than one digital TV may reduce signal quality and strength depending on how the aerial system is set up. It is therefore recommended that if you decide to use more than one digital television you use a booster and or at least make sure you are using a digital ready aerial. Using an existing Aerial that is split may reduce signal strength depending on how many times it is split. Please see the diagram below. The best solution when using an existing aerial is to purchase a booster device. Aerial Splitting - Why a booster is recommended. A booster is used to apply a small current that boosts the existing signal. A booster can be purchased from all main TV/HI-FI - consumer electronic product retailers.
I just looked at a TV last night for this. I don't know what you've tried yet, but I was getting that message until I went into the menu and selected the automatic channel scan. I forget what it was actually called, but you'll find it. After that, 19 digital stations came in beautifully with a cheap set of rabbit ears. (The scan will also find analog channels, which you can delete later on.) Good Luck.
Access the service menu by pressing, in order, whilst the tv is in stand-by mode:
info menu mute power
when the tv comes back on you will have a service menu; select option 12 (reset) the tv will then switch off.
this will reset your TV back to factory defaults.
turn tv back on and you should be prompted to go through the plug and play setup again - go through everything and then all should start working OK (it did for me)
If when you press the volume or channel up or down button you get no OSD, that's is no channel number or volume up bars, have some one check the set for either a defective video out IC or a defective picture tube, or a bad cap in the power supply. Set should be serviced by a TV repair person.
I have found the solution at last :)
Put the TV in standby and press these buttons in order
Info, Menu, Mute and Power on.
You will then see a hidden menu, on line 12 select reset
Bingo :)
