The DVD player keeps opening and closing and won't play/load DVD's. What could be the problem?

There are sensors which tell the DVD drive that the drawer is closed and that there is a DVD inserted, if these fail there is usually no simple fix, the parts need to be replaced which requires complete dis-assesembly of the TV/DVD, Most people just choose to connect an external DVD as it is cheaper.

The tray on DVD won't open when pressing OPEN button DVD/CD is inside

Often the tray is powered by a rubber belt. If the latter breaks or slips the try will not open/close. The motor will work and tell the electronics that all is well because it has done its job but it really hasn't since the tray is inert!

WHY MY PORTABLE DVD WON'T PLAY

It won't play for one of two reasons:
1. There is something inside the DVD player, which keeps it from playing.
2. The DVD player's battery has run out of juice and can no longer play, meaning the player needs to be replaced.

Machine won't load disc. Keeps saying loading

Either a mechanism problem or a problem with the Optical unit inside (optical pickup) being dirty or bad.

Dvd won't play

Go to default programs set your DVD player to open and auto start all video. So that when you place a DVD or CD in the drive it will auto load without you having to keep right clicking and opening the video. What may be happening is you may be clicking to open to many times and it has to catch up to open the video possibly. I would go that route and see if this fixes the matter. John

Zenith dvd/vcr model ABV341 DVD WON'T STAY IN TO PLAY...VCR WORKD FINE

If the door does not close either something ( a coin or anything) got inside or there is a issue with the mechanism= alignment or possible bad part in that mechanism that loads and positions the disc.

A suggestion when door opens try to take a quick look inside with a flashlight to see what you can.

I have a dvd from England and my old Sony DVP-C670D keeps giving me a prohibited message4 every time i try to play it. How do i unblock the region code.

Hi there,

Although no guarantee, this 'region hack' is rumoured to work:

1. Place the DVD player into 'standby' mode.

2. Using the Sony remote, press the following button sequence: Title; Clear; Power (green button); 0 (zero button)

3. Using the remote, Open the disc tray, then close again.

Now insert your disc and attempt to play - allow up to 2mins to load/play. If no response, open/close tray and try playing disc again.

Cheers,
