It's normal there is no #2 battery
yes if the optional battery was not installed it will be missing.
dah?
on some PCs one can turn off useless warning like this in BIOS. under warning options.
jackers.:
6910p-ZYZ123ABA# NO FULL MODEL STATED.
the PC was sold (many ) with 2 big batteries.
if #1 is dead then its missing or bad.
if #2 is there but dead its bad or , missing or never bought new, with #2 that is normal see>?
The BIOS assumes you have 2, it can know it was never bought, but scans it and finds it missing so is just a MESSAGE.
like car that tells you change oil even after done 2 days ago, yes, that dumbb.
on some PC you caN go into BIOS and turn this off. (some even allow DVD bay to be battery and you turn off battery there and DVD on and no more errors)
but HP does not have a BIOS manual, so, reading it will be impossible, only EXPLORATION of BIOS WORKS TODAY. ok?

Replace battery #2
or if missing buy one.
or if not wanting one, do nothing.

The answer is clear and simple below
read it, and do that carefully,
1: never was one there, (new or now)
2: or it is dead. (a bad or dead battery)
no battery lasts this long ever.
so why not replace it now, many fail in 1 year time.
learn that, live it do it.
this is optional part, a battery aux #2
or up to 4 docking stations,
the bios when booted shows, this missing.
when missing. (no need to panic) if present and that error happen then that means this aux batter is dead, or its fuses blew out.
all newer batteries now have fuses to stop the fire.
next time post photos of your PC
so we can see what you have,?
the Manual on your PC covers this at HP.com
why not read it.
my PC form them can be bought new with 2 huge batteries inside, or just 1.
it is your choice that, and even a docking station.(many types)
PCs can come with vast number of options
learn that. and stop the worry.
Desalgne Gebru... and 5 others want more answers.
cant read here, that it the answer is simple.
1: never was there
2: or is and is dead.
easy no, just 2 possible.
7 YEARS OLD POST
AND STILL THE SAME ANSWER,
BECAUSE IT'S CORRECT. LEARN TO READ.

Hi Tnation557,
I saw your post regarding the battery message. Did you get that message while running a diagnostic? Can you post a screen shot of that message?
The Compaq 6910p like most notebooks do have two batteries. The main battery and the RTC battery (or CMOS battery). It could be that there might be a problem with the RTC battery. Are you having a problem keeping the time set?
Thank you,
BHK6
I work on behalf of HP
its the 3rd battery using your COUNT;
laptop by hp.
did in fact have 2 main batteries, and 1 RTC coin cell. a total of 3,
most had 2,
MAIN1, installed.
Main2 not installed
and RTC coin on all .
not one bettery this old works now, so....
is that clear? (replace them all or be doomed) ok?
you are wrong Tnation
the PC had a 2nd main battery and the errors (false) happen at POST time.
it's just status report not an true error.
if no battery was ever there.
the photo of the 2nd main battery is in the post above.
405389 battery photo above, its not fake its real, and is an option. for sure.
the RTC coin cell is a whole other matter and is off topic here.

I dont know about that answer.. I have one of these notebooks..and it looks like the second battery can fit over the first battery at the same time..and connect to the connector that you have to slide the cover off of...next to the docking station..it would be room for both batteries..
the HP.com has the service manual try reading it ? amazing what that can do no?
PCs all made come with options and even added later, no kidding.
so we LOOK first, at the PC then at the manual, gee HP has the only parts list on PC made, called the HP parts surfer.
you can even look there, and learn gee look at all those endless options. just from HP.
alone. here it is, learn to read, ok?http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx
learn too the OP and all jacker failed to even tell the full model number on the service tag making any answer not accurate.
or, we cant see it in this silly text box.
no can do.
that model is also sold in many countries.
and they Are not ALL THE SAME.
