Ams tech 7620 modem info or any info on this laptop

It seems to work fine exccept for the modem. need driver? any info on this computer would be helpful! thanks!

    thanks for the info. do you have any ideas of where i could get any other info? i want to try to up the ram from its current 64mb up to ?????? with both places out of biz is there any hope to finding info? maybe a owners manule place or something? though i did already google for that and got zip. thanks again! dugie rocks!

This is an interesting problem. AMS Tech was not a manufacturer of any of their laptops, but rather resold machines from several large Taiwanese laptop vendors. This is a common practice in the computer industry, and since AMS Tech is no longer in business, it's a good thing because other brands sold the same machines that parts are available from these other sources. Here is a list of some of the components in the laptop: http://www.orphanlaptops.com/rodeo.htm Unfortunately, it looks like the manufacturer of the 7000 series is out of business as well. I'm afraid your best bet may be to just buy a PCMCIA modem.

Surely it needs more info to may it be resolved. But seems that you have a problem with DHCP. Try rebooting your Linksys Wireless G router and the two laptops AFTER you connect the cable modem.

how many computers are attached to your router
you could try swapping the laptops around this might be a faulty lead/s

I have a Dell XPS 1330 laptop and a DI-524 wireless router.
Unsure what your problem is exactly but here is something to try. Power off all computers, modem and router. Power up the modem first, and wait until it is completely up before proceeding. Next power up the router and wait until it is completely up, the only light that probably wont be lit is the LAN light. Then power up each computer, they can all be powered on at the same time, that part really doesnt matter. See if that fixes the problem.

I had the same problem different wireless driver...it could be the wrong driver...what version of Windows? What you can do is take a note of the driver being used, roll back the driver if you can ..I'm not sure what windows your on..but this worked for me with all the window updates drove me crazy. Windows tech support also stated, all the drivers they provided may not work even though they supplied them..so drivers may have to be reinstalled to work properly. I hope this help..
