I just began having a problem with my monitor. My wife first experienced it, she said a blue screen showed up with a warning to shut off the computer or files could be lost and it also had a time clock that was counting down. Not knowing what to do she let it shut down. The screen went black, the on/off light blinks repeatedly, and the monitor power on/off switch doesn't work. The only way to power down is by unplugging the power cord. I was online with Dell, someone in India, and he could not identify the reason for the flashing green light. While I was chatting with him the monitor returned to normal ops. This morning I woke to the same problem as described. Any ideas on this? Thanks, Trent

Thanks for info, we tried this earlier didn't work. I'm out shopping for a new monitor now.
I had this exact same problem. Happened once, then went away. Came back the next day, and it never came back again.
I have the exact problem. tried the monitor on 2 other computers. It also does that without the monitor being plugged in.....usually there is a message on the screen or color pattern.Seems to be a power source fault inside the monitor. Cannot seem to take apart this panel.
