Channel Levels The other day i changed the channel levels for the 580 and was getting much better cound. What is the optimal settings for the channels levels(ie. leave it at 0db or increase it) Should the surround and the front spekers be at the same levels.

1. Connect the output of the Yamaha MW12CX mixer to the input of the Stagepas 500 using a standard 1/4" instrument cable or an XLR cable. Connect the output of the mixer to the "LINE IN" or "MIC/LINE IN" jacks of the Stagepas 500, depending on what type of output signal you're sending from the mixer.
2. Set the levels on the mixer and the Stagepas 500. Turn down the master volume on the Stagepas 500 and set the individual channel levels to zero. On the Yamaha MW12CX mixer, set the faders for channels 1 and 2 to the unity gain position (usually around 0 dB).
3. Set the input mode on the Stagepas 500 to "LINE" or "MIC/LINE" for channels 1 and 2. This will ensure that the Stagepas 500 is receiving the correct input signal.
4. Adjust the levels on the mixer and the Stagepas 500. Slowly turn up the volume on the Stagepas 500 while monitoring the levels on the mixer. Make sure the levels are not too high and that there is no clipping or distortion.
5. Once you have the levels set correctly, you should be able to hear the sound coming through the Stagepas 500. Adjust the EQ and other settings on the Yamaha MW12CX mixer as needed to get the sound you want.

Note: The Yamaha Stagepas 500 has two more channels available, channels 3 and 4, which can also be used for additional inputs from the Yamaha MW12CX mixer or other sources.

Try swapping the input with another channel and see if the problem moves. Be sure to set the levels down or you may get your speakers this time. If the problem moves the source is the bad guy. If not check the gain setting, not the slider. The gain is normally the top know on the channel.

Ensure your Master output volume is at an acceptable level when recording. The machine will only save audio at the levels which it is recorded.

Also be sure to adjust levels accordingly when bouncing tracks down to one channel. I ussually prefer to set the EQ for these tracks to flat (or zero), as you will have much better results doing the EQ in final mix.

Just go on the menu and adjust levels of each channel . The menu has specific settings for its channels.

get the graphical user interface up on the TV,and adjust your sound levels.some amps also have supplied microphones for setting up their sound levels.you want about +8 DB on centre channel

Most hotel sets have a master remote for setting up channels, volume levels, picture settings, etc. You will have to get a master remote for this adjustment. Thanks for using fixya.

volume levels on all channels varies depending on what dsp mode you are using. to be able to determine the level you desire, just chnge the level setting of those channels. either you do it by remote control or the front panel of the amp. try setting the dsp mode on disco and you should hear higher vol levels on all channels. Do not expect as well all channels to produce same vol levels as your effects speakers may not be able handle higher power levels.
