The FCC internet site tells you how connect the converter box to analog TV and VCR but only says "connect your DVD player in a similar way". What does that mean? Is it even possible to connect a VCR, DVD player and the TV to the converter box?
Yes you can first connect the converter box to the antenna first. Next hook the tv out on converter box to vcr in on vcr. Next hook the vcr out to the tv in and watch vcr and converter box on channel 3 sometimes channel 4.on the actual tv and of course change channels with converter box remote. For dvd player hook it straight to tv with red,white,and yellow cables that come with your dvd player. Then to watch dvd player if it's hooked up that way you have to put your tv on a input like video 1 or input 1. This can be done by using the tv remote and looking for a button that says tv/video or input or source button. This is some common names for that button on tv remotes.

3/23/09 --- I have found that you cannot put the DVD player signal thru the VCR on the way to the TV because the coding on dvds DISTORT the signal (making the picture fade in and fade out constantly) so people cannot record the dvds on their vcr and violate copyright laws.
I have been successfully manually switching all three (red/white/yellow) RCA plugs between the dvd player and the converter box (or the vcr when I plug the converter box into the vcr) depending on whether I want to watch a dvd movie or TV programming. I wil;l soon buy a Switch Box at WalMart for about $9 so I can plug the Converter Box (or the VCR with Converter Box connected to it.) and the DVD Player into it then just flip the switch to change from one to the other.
Remember, DO NOT hook the DVD player thru the VCR!
Pass the signal from your antenna to the converter box to the DVD Player then to the VCR and lastly to your TV

I've connected the converter box to the TV and been using it successfully for several days. Now I want to use the dvd player. I connected the dvd player to the TV (same as before) and have the tv/converter set to the video input setting. I get the dvd sound but no picture.
I have a problem with getting my DVD player to work with the Converter Box the only plug in left on the back of our older TV set is a S video connector it does not have Red, Yellow White at all on the TV.
What we were using was a Radio Shack RF Modulator to hook up our tv to the DVD or switched it out for Video Games and we had no problem using these items by doing so. I tried using the converter box and hook everything up like the Modulator Box. We can get channels but no DVD.
I'm wondering if I can just get a S video cable and hook the DVD player to the TV and make it work that way since both are not HV?
Our Zenith TV is maybe too old? It only has two inputs in the back -- red and white -- no yellow. We can't make the DVD player work with our new converter box, which works great for TV programming.

I have a very old tv also without any place to connect the DVD or VCR directly to the tv, how can we connect up all 3 so they will work on the tv with the converter? Ours also has a modulator currently so they work with the tv. Does this convertor we are being forced to use now mean we have to go out and buy a whole new tv and waste money when before we had a tv that worked just fine with the VCR and DVD because the government wants us to spend more money we don't have, or force us to pay someone to find a way to hook these up?

My TV's coax input socket is loose/broken and unusable. I have only one input on the TV for red/white/yellow RCA plug inputs. Can I use three RCA splitters to input both DVD Player and the VCR into the same TV input RCA sockets? If so, will this cause me any limitations?
(I do have S-Video sockets at both DVD & TV, but only the one set of audio inputs. I do also have a red and white Audio Out sockets at my TV, but I presume they are useless for my problem described.)

I was able to hook up the converter box, but the DVD player doesn't work.
My TV does not have ANY INPUTS. Just antenna connection on the back. We have vcr and dvd player and are trying to get BOTH to work with the new converter box. We have a switch box, BUT only the vcr will work with the switch. when we play DVD no settings enable us to see it. I have called everyone I know and nobody has an answer. PLEASE HELP!!!
