I had just bought my dvd player and i broke the power cord. i got a generic replacement the charge light blinks. and when i unplug it a turn it on with battery power. it flickers and the screen goes dead. the sound still works. whats wrong

Battery
Same problem. Light keeps blinking and won't stop even after five hours. It will go on but there is no picture and all I can here is the sound. Pleeeeeeease help. I've been struggling for an answer for a year now.
