If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Have you got the cable that go's between the mp3 and the computer ?. If you have then that is haw you charge up your mp3 player, you can leave it hocked up to your computer while it is charging.

yea u can recharge your mp3 player all you do is use the cord that u use to transport music to the mp3 hook it up to the computer put your mp3 player on it then just leave it alone && it will be get charged

The ilo 2GB mp3 only uses AAA batteries and will not recharge them. It is not designed to recharge the battery.

try to decharge and recharge fully a few times - if the issue still does not resolve - time to change the battery

Possibly the batter may have gone dead. How long have you had the MP3 player? If maybe it hasn't been used in a while how was it stored? Cold? Heat? Lots of moisture. But really if it is old most likely then it can't hold a charge anymore. Thing to try is just buying another battery and see if it will work and if that doesn't work well, say goodbye to the MP3 maybe unless you know of a place that can fix the internals.
