My ice maker does not dispense cubed ice.
Is there a reset button?
Not really a reset button but htere is a solenoid that controls the type of ice coming out of dispenser. with the ice bucket in place give a look at it from underneath and find the brass rod spanning from front to back of bucket. that rod hooks into a solenoid catch that when activated lifts the rod up and down for crushed/ or cubed ice.. after locating the "hole" in which the rod enters you should also see a corresponding plastic ring that would catch the rod upn activating stich and pull/up and down.. Ill assume that the "catch ring" is tuck in the up positon , might only be frozen up in which case you can hit it with a hair dryer to melt it, its also possible that the \solenoid had melted it self in the up position in which case you need to replace it.. to check this theory you can hook the brass rod into the ring assy in which case youll only dispense cubed no crushed

check to see if you ice bin has full size ice cube in it... if there is then you dispense is stuck in the crush mode check to see if there is something keep the crushing wheels from releasing... other than that it could be the control on the door..hope this helps

Hi: There is a flap right where the ice dispenses. When you remove the bin you will see it when inverted. This flap has to open for the ice to be cubed. You might rember a slap as it swung open when it worked. There is a bar that runs from the flap to the back of the dispenser. Work it manually to see if it's jammed or broken. If not look at the back of the freezer and remove the metal panel if neccessary, to find the jam or defective part. I hope this helps, Jeff

I have a GE TFX25ppbaaa refrigerator. The ice maker corkscrew motor would run and provide crushed ice only. The corkscrew motor would not run when the switch was moved to the cubed ice ( half moon) setting.
I replaced the large Light/ water/ crushed ice/cubed ice switch , ( product service number GEH WR55X129 ) ( part number GE 162D6372 PO17 )and it fixed the problem. Cost was about $43.00.

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid

No matter how many times I reach to the back, stick my finger in the hole, and push the damned switch up, the damned thing keeps switching back to crushed ice. The controls on the front are almost useless. Back when it was under warranty I had the repair guys out 5 times, and each time they replaced the circuit boards, which of course accomplished nothing, since it seems to be a mechanical problem. Everyone made money and I am stuck with this $1,500 piece of ****.
