I have tried to plug and unplug. Then a surge protector. Neither helped. I also left it for a few months and that did not work either. I have gotten no help from RCA. What else can I try?

My system was working great until one day I cut it on and the lights on the front screen went dim then out. Now nothing works anymore.

Hey I have a RCA rec. that worked fine, but now all you here is the fan when you power it on and the the BYE BYE! message appears. Can you help me out?

  • klra Aug 01, 2008

Same problem-- turn it on and it says bye-bye and only the fan functions. I believe this is tied to a problem on the stand-by board as the unit tries to fire up but a relay on this board clicks and it powers down with only the fan running. There is a small transformer on the board that may be breaking down and not suppling enough juice to keep the relay engaged. I'm trying to find a new board to replace the old one.

I had the same problem a couple years ago with mine. After letting it set for several months, I tried to plug it in again after moving into another house. All of a sudden, it started working again. That was 1 year ago, but just last week...it did it again. I noticed that it does this if it is left on for an extended amount of time (my wife goes to bed at night and leaves it on). I cannot find anything on how to fix it, and no warranty assistance from RCA. I'm purchasing a Sony today, but will hold onto the RCA in case it decides to work again.

Sony Home Theatre System Turning Off

Appears that you have a bad cap in the power supply that is changing value as it heats up. Hard to find - only thing you can do is go to suspected units and replace them hoping that you got the bad one. Or just wait till it finally pops.

standby mode press hold power........"beep"......"beep"..release power button

then try rebuilding the database and the file system in recovery consol

to get to the recovery consol press and hold the power button when ps3 is in standby mode(red light) till you hear a double beep. sometimes the ps3 does a beep then another beep and goes back into standby thsi is fine just release the power and quikly press and hold it again till you get double beep.

PS3 doesn't appear on screen. Possible power issue.

Hello. There are a few causes for this. I will list acouple solutions for you.

1. Reset the Video Output Settings. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light --> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held down the On/Off button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings. Once you turn it back on, it should work fine.
2. If option 1 does not work call Sony because the video out chip has blown or come unsoldered.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

Tv won't turn on

I had a similar problem when there was a power outage or the lights went briefly out. I unplugged the TV and left it for a few days/weeks and then plugged it in and the TV worked. I think newer TVs should be treated like a home computer and put them on surge protectors.

It won't turn on!

Could be a power board problem. Anyone home at that time alone, possible internal damage due to spillage???? Pull harddrive, reseat memory and pull battery and try again.

Sony kv35v36 tv no power

Good day.

It is an internal problem particularly in the power supply section. But you can try checking on the fuse. It may have been blown.

Problems with RCA RT2620

I have this exact problem, it appears the power on/off switch no longer works. After re-setting by unplugging the unit, use the remote only. As for the display, I find that if I turn the home theatre on last, the unit works and if I turn it on first, it behaves as you described.
