Frigidaire Front load washer mold

I also have a black line of mold on the seal inside the washer. I have put bleach on it to ****** it. Doesn't touh it. I will probably have to replace the seal at some point in time. My washer is 18 months old

I have the same mold/mildew bad smell problem with the Frigidaire Affinity ATF6000ESO that's only 3 years old. I don't think the person before me kept up with the required cleanings. I've bleached the rubber gasket inside and out, and i think i have most of the mold out, but the smell won't go away. I've also cleaned the dispenser tray by soaking it in bleach for hours, and although it's now clean, I have the figure out how to get deep inside to get the rest of the mold. From everything i've read these last 4 days, nothing will get the smell out. The 1 option I read that gave me any hope was that Frigidaire agreed to send out a repair man to replace the rubber gasket for one lucky washer owner. The only hope we have is that Frigidaire recalls the front load washers or agrees to replace the gasket with the new version they've manufactured that won't retain water for washer owners - and for free! I have the same problem with mold around the rubber gasket. Bleach hasn't worked and my towels especially have an odor even after washing. Is there something to do besides replacing the gasket? We have a stack unit, that is less than 2 years old. It's a great space saver, but the water that is caught in the door gasket sits there, mildews and has a terrible odor if we don't keep it wiped out and dry between washing. Our washer is only a few months old and I noticed mold in the gray rubber lining just inside the front load door. I tried to clean it, but it is not coming off. How do I get it off? I too have problem with mold and bad smell. I was told by a custer service agent to do a wash of towels with hot water and vineger...mold is still there and in places that I really can't get to. I have the same problem. I have been working all day and with bleach and Tilex and nothing has helped. The black mold is between the rubber and the metal and it is very hard to get to . I had a technician come up about a year ago and he replaced the rubber (or boot). However, ever since I have had this problem. The washer smells horrible and the mold keeps growing. I am thinking about replacing it! Just as simple as that. Front loaders are just highly overrated. By the way I own model: LTF2940ESO

I also have the affinity front load washer and my husband has even removed the rubber lining to clean it- I do not recommend that as it was not fun trying to get it back into the washer. My washer is 2 years old and I would never buy another front load washer again. I have tried all the remedies but I have not tried calling the company. I will do that and hope for the best. We have the same black mold problem that won't go away. Also, the front door to the washer fell off once when I went to open the thing. No extra force used just cheaply made. I'm very disappointed...spent way too much for both the washer and dryer. Will never purchase a front loader again!

I noticed in the gray rubber piece of my front loader a mold substance. I have tried Tilex and magic erasers. Nothing seems to get rid of it. I have the same problem. Interesting that the person giving the solution says to keep the door open. The instructions say to close the door! Always! The only thing I find that does work is to wipe it down after every load and keep the door ajar. Also, give it a bleach cycle every once and awhile.

Not only is there mold in the gasket inside the door to my washer...there's SERIOUS mold inside the tray compartment where the soap and fabric softener go. I took the tray out and was horrified when I saw the amount of growing mold. I can't get rid of it in either place. I DO keep the door open when the washer is not in use. I also leave the tray compartment open slightly. Nothing helps.

I own a GE front load machine and it had a musty smell after about 6 months of use. I called the repair man and he informed me that most front load washers have an overflow hose that holds water from previous loads. I too tried all the bleach tricks that did not help. He showed me how to remove the front lower panel[kind of a pain , so now mine stays off],After removing panel you find a cap that can be removed, be ready because all the stinky grey water is going to come pouring out. I caught it in a tray and found coins, hair pins, paper clips all the things my old top load would have caught in the basket. I left the cap off and sprayed a bleach product up into the opening. This made all the difference in the world, the only problem is you must repeat every month or so. I have since noticed that this same newer model and the new LG model have a small door in the front lower panel to access this cap. I knew what this little door was for but wanted to know if the salesman knew. No one in the store had a clue. It is time people learn about the products they sale.
