I need to know if this model has a reverse and how to do it
To reverse the IR model # 8055 , the end opposite of the front-nose , there's an end-cap which can be rotated clockwise/counter-clockwise till it stops ,then afterwards pull trigger switch to energize the tool . This will enable you to change direction of rotation ( all-ways make sure the motor is at complete rest before changing rotation & pulling the trigger back .. Chris
SOURCE: need to know how to adjust pressure regulator for low/high limits
There should be a pipe leading from the tank to a box that looks like a water pump pressure regulator.
If the compressor does not turn off when the tank pressure reaches the preset limit and if the safety fails the unit may explode. I would replace the regulator with another. Some things are just not worth saving. the regulator can be fixed but if the compressor explodes serious damage and or death may result. I think I would go to your dealer and request another switch (regulator).....!

SOURCE: I have a model ss3-e
The IRss3 pump has reed valves that will not seal properly if dirt or other debris settles on the surface of the seat. Indication of faulty reed valves or head gaskets is very hot discharge air, air discharged from intake and / or low pressure. Simple test is to check for suction at intake when the compressor reaches 80psi. Air should not be discharged from intake. Remove head and valve plate and inspect / replace parts as needed. Parts are available from WWW.grainger.com. Good Luck, happy holidays.
SOURCE: I have a Ingersoll Rand Type-30, Mod#2475
when you remove the pressure switch cover, there is a screw on the top screw clockwise means increasing air pressure and anticlockwise means decreasing the drlivery air pressure
Testimonial: "Cool!!Thanks!I finally got a "page" on pressure switch. Its not in the regular owners manual. It was like pulling teeth,& had to get it from GRAINGER"
SOURCE: I have a Ingersoll Rand P185 WJD air compressor
Do not use 30 wt oil. It will wreak the oil/air seperator filter. Use Ingersoll Rand Pro-Tec fluid. It will hold approx 3 gallons.
