If your Ricoh MP5000 printer is displaying the "Please Wait" message, it may be due to a problem with the printer or an issue with the print job. Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
Restart the printer: Sometimes a simple restart of the printer can fix minor issues. Turn the printer off, wait a few minutes, and then turn it back on again.
Check for errors: Check the printer's control panel for any error messages or codes. These messages can help diagnose the problem.
Cancel the print job: If the "Please Wait" message is displayed while a print job is in progress, try canceling the print job. You can do this through the printer's control panel or by using the printer's cancel function on your computer.
Check for paper jams: If the "Please Wait" message is displayed while the printer is attempting to print, there may be a paper jam. Check the printer for any jammed paper and remove it if necessary.
If these steps do not fix the issue, there may be a more serious problem with the printer. In this case, it is recommended to contact Ricoh customer support or a printer repair technician for further assistance.

I had exactly the same problem. Called Konica Minolta, and the best they could offer was 'Power down and then back up again". I did this but still had the same "please wait" that didn't go away. Then I powered down, unplugged the power cord, left a few minutes, then plugged in and powered up again. This time the printer went through a lengthy and noisy startup process, even printing out a status page. I then tried again, and this time immediately afte the "please wait" I got the "open door" as expected, and was able to replace the toner successfully.
I suspect though that you are right, and that the correct cartridge does get positioned automatically, and the "open door" message is not necessary. It would be nice if someone could confirm though.
try to reinstall your printer and if the error message show up again try to check your printer to the HP customer care mybe the problem from your board printer
