Power Board for SVA Plasma tv

Samsung LJ44-00025A is the part number I found for the power board in my tv unit. My husband took the thing apart and I ordered two capacitors that looked to be blown (swollen). We replaced them but the tv is still clicking and turning off. If you can get the news involved I will certainly support on this one. I paid like 3 grand for my tv new almost 5 years ago. I called SVA about 4 times, each time they said they would definitly call me back (never did). I just kept pestering them every few days. They finally told me that my tv is out of warranty and I could send the unit to Ca. to have it repaired, but I would have to pay all shipping and repair costs. I don't feel that is fair if this is indeed a defect on their board. I would be cheaper to buy a new tv than to fix it, but what if you can't afford to do that? What do we do in that instance? If I can be of any assistance let me know. As far as Samsung is concerned I could not find out anything from them on that power board. I put that part # on their website but nothing shows up for an SVA television. I guess they manufacturer the board but it is also used in a few other makes of plasma tvs and they are also having the same problem with theirs. Get back to me.

You can get the power board here http://www.shopsva.com/hdpobo.html, but with a new 42" plasma costing under $700, it doesn't seem worth it.

I too am trying to replace components, but no luck. I've changed 2 relays and a transistor so far.

I bought this power supply board and now my son has a big tv in his room. We already purchased a new one for our room and my husband just couldn't throw the sva away. Thanks so much for your advice, finally something worked!

We have identified a common problems with theses sets manufactured by, SVA, Gateway, Viewsonic, Sampo and a few other brands. They all have a Samsung power supply board (LJ44-00025A), which has cause these units to lose power. There is a easy fix, replace the power board. But you ask why should we? That's the right question. If these boards all have the ability to fail with various parts and within various displays. This has to be a defective part. As of now, there is no recall on this part. Therefore, we are generating a list of customers, who own these displays and are requesting a refund for previously purchased parts or a replacement part at no cost to the customer. We are in the prelimary stages, so please be patient with our efforts.

If have indentified your unit is salvage by an power issue an wish to purchase the indentified part (LJ44-00025A, we recommend you purchase from http://www.adc-ast.com/.

We cannot guarantee that any monies will be refunded by this claim.

Tv started to smoke took apart and found found the

I assume it was the power supply that you replaced? It is very likely that a fusible device on another board has gone open circuit to protect any damage due to the initial problem. Again I assume you have a plasma TV in which case there will probably be a problem on the Y or Z sustain boards which may also need to be replaced as this may have been the reason for the other board to burn up

TV won't come on

The power board is gone. I have one and it did the same thing. I found a site with the board for about $149.00 but it was not worth it. The brand new board only lasted 30 days and it burnt out also. It seems that power supply board which is a different board and smaller board probably is bad as well and it burned up the new main power board I put in. This TV is not worth fixing. Sorry, it really sucks. Samsung supplies this board to SVA but the board is actually built by Gateway. Deal with this for the past 2 years and no one will take responsibility for it. Dead end with every effort. There were a group of us that was actually trying to file a class action class suit against SVA who is really not willing to help anyone but even that is not worth it. They could replace the board but the new one will burn out shortly after once it has already burnt the first board. Just a badly built TV. I am in the process of purchasing a new tv and I will never buy a Samsung product again becuase of this even though gateway built it for them. Sony or Sharp is my next option.

Good luck to you.

SVA PLASMA TV

I got this same tv from a guy in my area he would press the poewer botton on the tv and the standby light comes on and then turns off, so he gave me the tv for free i took the back panel off, and everytime i press the power botton the green light came on where the screen board is and went back off after i let the botton go i took the power board out took it to a repair shop to see if there was anything a wrong with it everything was good so i replaced the two fuses on the board and the one on the screen board, i had a feeling about the power switch so i jumped the wires on the switch purple to purple and green to green, I put it back together pluged it in the standby light came and stays on now, so i went out and got a universal remote for the sva at walmart for $15 programed it and pressto the tv works perfect so three fuses $3.60 two small pieces of wire and ele tape $0 my time 35 mins = one working plasma for $3.60 so when you have this problem like everyone else check the power botton switch, there cheap and check the fuses theres only three and if that dont work idk what to tell ya. and you do need a remote or tv wont work.
