Colors are very off, epecially whites.

Recently, my whites are very off, as well as some other colors. It is mostly noticeable with whites, they appear reddish/greenish. It is very hard watching us white folk on tv as the glare off the foreheads produce a very bad discoloration. The hardest thing is trying to watch hockey, which is what I mainly watch. It just looks like a sea of red/green/off-white confusion. Any help? Any idea what this might be? Happens with RGB cables and HDMI. Thanks.

If contrast etc not set incorrectly it may be a issue on the main board which processes all signal inside the set===a 37 inch might cost you more to fix than to replace.

Blurry, purple bar across middle of plasma tv screen

Plasma screens are extremely susceptible to getting broken from any impacts to the face of the screen. What you are describing sound very much like distorted or dead pixels. It may not be a fixable issue, you may have to replace the entire unit or live with the purple bar. The reason you don't notice it as much when the screen is dark is because purple is on the darker end of the spectrum, and will be most visible in contrast to lighter ad brighter colors.

Even when printing in monochrome color ink goes down

Depending on what you print, these printers will print black by combining all three colors, they also use some color every time the printer calibrates. If you print mostly black and white you are better off getting a monochrome only printer.

Have a panasonic pt50dl54 and have replaced the lamp just recently. Now I get w wiring noise that sometimes is noticeable and sometimes you hear it after tv is turned off. Is it the fan? I have vacuumed...

Check with ur owner manaul or panasonic corp.for ur tv model and made does it have a Colors wheel design in to it.The tv most likely have a dying and worn out motor of the colors wheel require replacement,if the tvs are DLP projection tvs that have wining noies, motors noises and have flashes black&white withthin the pictures. All these causes are cause by a dying and a malfuction of Colors wheel.

Discolored Sides

Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens.Ths if your tv is a dlp if its a Lcd it will be an issue with your light engine: Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

After having my dish network upgraded to HD and installed, i notice on my tv now that the green and red colors are not there, predominant on channels like ESPN that use these colors most. I._E.: football...

Sounds like one of the cables got plugged in wrong.

Look at the back of the HD box and there should be a cable with 5 ends on it (Green,Blue,Red, White and Red).

Often times a flashlight can help make sure you see the colors clearly.

The Green,Blue and one of the Reds is for video. The White and other red are for Audio.

When you unplug the connector the connection it is attached to is also colored. Check to make sure the colors on the cord match the color they are connected to at the box.
The most common mistakes connecting these cables are:
1) Crossing the Green and the Blue cables.
2) Connecting the Red Audio cable to the Red Video connection.

If all of the connections match the correct colors find the same cable where it plugs into the back of the TV and check these connections that they are correct.

When you find and move the cable to the correct connection this should clear up your color and you can begin to enjoy your new toys....

Good Luck....

Pixels aren't refreshing correctly in upper right hand side of screen

You might have a Service Co. come out and look at it. It sounds like the Z module is not doing it's job of erasing all prior images after a scene change. Some models there are adjustments for that internally. ( only for a tech ) Start a paper trail now.
