Started out with E20. Now E23.

I saw you helped others on this machine. any suggestions on:

Started out with E20. Now E23. I cleared clogs and now it sometimes rinses, sometimes spins, never drains and just shuts off after getting to these last cycles. I am handy and would like to take care of this myself. What do you recommend?

E23 - Drain pump relay on control board failed. Replace control board or wire.

According to the code, the board is the culprit. The pump should be 120 V. Why don't you take a cheater cord with some alligator clips and put power directly to the pump. If the unit drains, you can pretty much trust the code and replace the board. Catriver

It pauses with error code E20 and doesn't seem to drain or spin, could it be the filter is cloged?

The E20 error code is a class code that indicates a drain problem in the washer. This is consistent with the drain and spin problem that you are observing. To determine the exact error code, follow these steps:

Wake the machine by pressing any button

Wait 5 seconds

Press and hold the START and PAUSE/CANCEL buttons simultaneously

The exact error code (E21, E23 or E24) will be displayed.

If E23 or E24 are displayed, you will normally need to replace the control board due to a failed drain pump relay.

If the E21 code is displayed, I recommend that you follow these troubleshooting tips:

Check the washer drain to see if it is clogged.

Check the washer drain hose for a clog or restriction.

Make sure that the washer drain system complies with the installation instructions for the washer.

Try to gravity drain the washer by placing the drain hose in a bucket on the floor. If the washer will gravity drain, you may be able to

unplug the washer

and remove the bottom front service panel using the procedure in the image below. Arrange towels to catch residual water that may be in the washer and check the pump filter and drain trap for a clog or debris. If you find no clog or debris, then you may need to replace the drain pump. NOTE: You should not attempt this procedure unless you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely access and check the pump. Do not disassemble the drain pump hose if the washer is full of water.

What does E20 mean

The E20 error code indicates a problem with water drainage. Inspect the drainage hose for kinks that could impede the drainage flow. This frequently occurs when the machine is pushed up against the wall without allowing room for the hoses. If there are no kinks, the hose is probably clogged. Carefully detach the hose from the machine, and use a garden hose to force water through it. If the water doesn't pass through, use a plumber's snake to clear the clog. If there is no clog, inspect the drain pump for clogs. Unplug the machine, and open the small rectangular door towards the bottom of the front of the machine. Drain the pump through the emptying hose into a container until the water flow stops, and rotate the pump impeller to clear any foreign objects. Close the pump and restart the cycle. If the problem persists, contact a service center.

E20 keeps coming up on washing machine and wont drain

E20 is a code for the consumer only. Electrolux would determine this to be E23 most commonly. This is because there is a blockage in the filter, drain hose or plumbing

I'm getting an error signal E20 when there is about 15 minutes left in the cycle. Ive tried clearing the hose, not sure what to do??

The most common cause of an E20 error code would be a clogged or damaged drain pump. Other possible issues would be a loose wire to you pressure switch, loose wire at your control board, loose wire at your drian pump, or failed control board. This is not a specific error but from my experience the most likely cause of this issue would be a bad drain pump. Something is clogging the pump or the motor is bad.

hope this helps _MJ_

Zanussi ZWF1437W E23

E23 indicates Drain pump faulty; Wiring faulty; PCB faulty.

The service information also says it should stop with the door open.

Unplug the appliance and manually remove the water via the filter or front drain point if it's fitted.

Drain it into a shallow dish, tighten the filter when you need to stop the water (or plug the hose if draining via a hose) while you empty the container.

Once empty, try the door again.

Take the filter out and clean out any debris in it.

Plug the appliance in and put the machine on a drain programe.

Listen/look at the open filter to check that the drain pump is running.
