Codes are made up by the universal remote control manufacturers.
DVD player/TV manufacturers do not make codes for their products.
You will have to look in the instructions for your remote control to
find a code. If you cannot find one, you will have to try the listed
codes one at a time to see if any work. If that also fails, you will
have to contact the manufacturer of the universal remote. Try going to
their website. E-mail them if you have to.
Not all universal remotes will work with all devices. This is why universal remotes are not really universal.
Without Codes:
With the DVD/VCR unit on, continue to depress the remote controller's "Code Search" button for about ten seconds, release, & the light on the remote controller should stay on. Continue to tap the remote controller's UP or DOWN channel button ONLY UNTIL the DVD/VCR unit responds. Then, press the power button on the remote controller once the channel has changed. If the DVD/VCR unit shuts off, then press the power button again to turn it back on. If the DVD/VCR unit turns on, then the remote controller has been correctly programmed. Otherwise, repeat this whole process until the remote controller is correctly programmed.
