It almost for sure is only done with the working original remote---most of these there is no manual way or using a universal will not get it.

How do I do a channel search on a Memorex MLT1912 tv?

First, ensure that the TV is set to the TV (either NTSC (analog) or ATSC (digital)). To do this, press the Source button until this is the highlighted source. (The Source button is the second from the left (as you face the set) on the top of the TV. There is also a source button on the remote above and to the right of the arrow keys.) Next press the Menu button (center of the arrow keys on the remote or the button just to the right of the Source button on the TV). Use the navigation arrows to navigate the menus. The Channel up/down buttons mimic those arrow keys on the remote. Press the Volume Up or right arrow to select an item. Next select Setup and go to Preset. Select this sub-menu and go to Reception. Select the item and then set the mode to TV for over-the-air. Set this to CATV for cable on the antenna RF input. Press Menu repeatedly to go back in the menu system. Return to the Preset section of the Setup menu. Navigate to the Auto Install and select this. Wait for the TV to scan all channels for either NTSC or ATSC depending on the current Source. Exit the menu and change the source to the other TV tuner. Repeat the steps to Auto Install to store channels for both the analog and digital tuners.

The manual is available from ManualsLib here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/101765/Memorex-Mlt1912.html . See pages 5, 16 and 17 (pages 6, 17 and 18 as labeled by ManualsLib) for the screen shots and pictures of the remote control and front panel buttons for these steps.

Since there are only a few low-power NTSC stations still broadcasting, you may not find any stations when you scan for channels with NTSC as the source. Depending on the stations in your area, skipping the Auto Install step for NTSC may be appropriate. I hope this helps.

I changed the video input on my memorex tv and I'm not sure how to change it back without the remote

Use the menu button to get into the set's menu and try to program without a remote----failing that GOOGLE the model number to locate a new remote.

I am wondering how to record a tv show on a blank VCR tape. The VCR I have is a Memorex MVR2031 VHS VCR. Can you help with step by step directions?

Cable from Programming source to TV. Tv OUTPUT cables to VCR INPUT. You will need to check the VCR Manual if you still have it. retrevo.com doesn't have your model listed since it's classified as obsolete, even though many people still have VCR only units.

You have to set your recording channels on the TV to match the switches on the VCR. May have to do it by menus, remotes or both and or just switches on the back of your units.

Here are some basic how-tos:

Setup varies based on source of programming (ie satellite, cable, etc) Good luck. Hope this has helped.

I am trying to hook up Wii but I don't have the remote for the tv. When I bought the tv it was a floor model and it didn't have a remote. I am trying to change the channel for input...channels on tv

Buy a universal remote with an input button if there is no input selection option on the television. Would be helpful if you mentioned the brand and model of your TV

How do I hook my Memorex Model MVD2016 to an Emerson Model EWT19B3 TV

You need to get an RF modulator if you want to connect to the antenna input on the back of the TV set. You can use the composite output of the Memorex - the yellow cable output - and connect to the video input on the front of the TV, and use the red or white output from the DVD to connect to the audio input on the front of the TV. You will have to press the 'game' button on the remote to select the front audio/video inputs.

Horizontal line across screen

HELLO
This is called "Field Collapse". Line collapse is different (a single vertical line) in the centre of the screen.
But field collapse is usually a fault in the field circuit (possibly a field output IC has gone short circuit) or electrolytic capacitors have dried out. The same can happen in a CRT TV - looks as if LCD panels are the same way! I think you will have to take this to a service centre.
GOOD LUCK! (:-)

No picture on Memorex MLTD3222 flat panel LCD.

I recently got this tv from somone because of this exact problem. I have found a solution that works for mine. You can check to see if it works for you also. What I did was take of the back cover. 3 screws (1 big one in the center and 2 little ones below it). Next look at the power board. If plugged in and turned on the red light on the power board should be lit up. If so your power board is fine. Next find the component that has 4 switches. I manually turned these on and turned the tv on and it worked! Has been working ever since!

Can not access menu or input functions

Hi rduncan27,
I will be happy to help. 88% of LCD tv problems are with the backlight, the symptoms you described indicate a probable inverter malfunction. Lets do a simple test to check the functionality.
  1. Get the tv to a point that it is producing sound.
  2. Take a flashlight and shine it on the screen.
  3. Look very closely for a dark video image.
Let me know your findings and we can proceed from there.
