I bought a 2005 Pontiac Vibe, with a factory amp under the passenger seat that powers the regular speakers and a built in Monsoon speaker. I replaced the head unit, and installed my Kenwood Excelon KAC-X521 and 2 12" Dual's. I have everything set right, but very little sound is coming from the subs, is there special wiring needed to use an aftermarket amp with a factory amp?
The aftermarket head unit has RCA outputs that are connected to my aftermarket amp, but the wiring for the factory amp is all sealed. I've looked into this for a few days, and I don't think I need a LOC. i don't know. please look in owner's manual for fuse location and inspect/change. my blower [Ranger pick up] was located under hood in front of passenger seat and i bought a used blower to save $$$$. easy for me to install. friend's car [pontiac vibe] had bad heater resistor cardon inside firewall at passenger's feet.- $75 new - easy to replace.
The factory installed amplifier is underneath the passenger seat. It is held down by two screws under the front of the seat, and a nut under the rear of the seat. Two wire connects are plugged into the side facing the center of the car.

I would venture a guess with what little information you've provided (make, model, year...) that your vehicle had a factory installed amplifier. Take the blue wire from the new head unit and attach it to the power lead for the factory amplifier. Fords usually locate the factory amp under the passenger's seat. Chrysler infinity systems (Jeep) under the back seat etc...

The blower resistor has failed.It is located right next to the fan blower motor. It is located passenger side under dash.Check the pigtails to make sure no wires appear damaged.
