Picture is blurry

When the set is first turned on the picture is fine. After being on for about 30 minutes, the picture gradually becomes very blurry. If the set is turned off for about an hour, the picture is clear again. But after another 30 minutes or so, the blurriness returns.

It sounds like the focus block or flyback is bad.sometimes you can put nail polish on the adjustments controls to make it stay.usually they are marked from the factory with white marks check and see if they are aligned.but be sure somebody with tech-skills help you.the flyback usually has a screen & focus control.(the big red wire to the tubes or block)

I have owned an emerson tv for two years now. All of a sudden the picture has become very blurry and white. It is not the cable connection and a DVD is also white and blurry. Even the input channels are...

you must open the back cover of tv, and then things you should do is set "SCREEN" adjustment on the flyback transformer. you must turn it counterclockwise to reduce and decrease the level of screen brightness. turn screen adjustment gradually until the horizontal blanking lines disappear from the screen. and blurred images will be sharp again

TOSHIBA 57H82 TV Blurry for 15 minutes till warms up

This is a model first sold 2002.

They have a history of the Hyper board failing. Usually noise or lines in the picture and the warmup time gradually gets longer and longer.

This board processes all signal from all inputs inside the set and is no longer available from Toshiba.

The only way to get one is from a national company called PTS Electronics who rebuilds or repairs them--cost for rebuilt board is about 220 plus shipping and part number for this model is:
Part Number23148024

I have a service bulletin with photos of the board on my computer.

It is a financial decision, not a job for the average do it yourself person to attempt.

Tv picture blurry, not clear

The LXI or Sears brand used philips TV's. These sets are known for bad coolant fluid. In between the picture tube and their lenses is a layer of clear coolant. Over time the coolant breaks down and causes the picture to become blurry. This can be a complicated repair involving removal of the picture tubes and lenses. Have a repair shop check it for you. Thanks for using fixya.

is the blurry all around the picture have different color like a smear of red, blue or yellow?
if it is i think the posistor of your tv is not working. it is the one who activate the degaussing coil around the picture tube the prevent color miss-landing upon opening your tv set.

After 30 Minutes and the picture distorts

you can adjust the v_set and the v_scan voltages anout 15 vdc lower.(they are on a little board to thr right of the power supply board) this has a good chance of correcting the problem.if not then the panel itself is bad..this set had a 2 year warranty, and even if it was a demo with your bill of sale you should have no problems with having it repaired. if you have no bill of sale and cant get one..be carefule as there is dangerous voltage in a tv set

1/3 of picture becomes partially scrambled

sounds like you have a frame fold-over fault, does banging the tv have any effect (slightly bang the set on the sides), if it does then its more than likely a dry joint, check all around the frame output chip, hope this is of some help to you

36" tube tv. picture fuzzy and out of focus

It sounds like you may have a G1 intermittent short in the picture tube, which unless it is still in warranty would not be worth repairing.

Screen goes from blurry to clear to blurry

The first thing to check is for loose conections, the problem is related to the high voltage but it can start in the main board with one component loose, when the high voltage is developed it goes to what is call the distributor block,a lot of sets have the focus and screen controls coming out of this block for each picture tube, this block might be bad but before we go to him we need to check everything is solid in the main board. If you are familiar with electronics you can remove the back cover and tap the chassis with a wooden or rubber handle to see if the set reacts,if it does you need to be atentive what area makes it react and flip the board to do some resoldering,If you are not too familiar with tv service you need the assistance from a servicer.Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.
