Tv was working fine, then turned itself of and no longer has power going to it. I tried different outlets but still no power (light wont turn on). I checked AC fuse and that seems to be just fine. Any ideas what else to look for?
Someone would have to check for short starting in Horizontal output circuit at the output transistor--voltage checks will also narrow down where likely problem is at.
If power light does not come on usually trouble is at fuse or very near it.

Check the power source: Make sure that your TV is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet and that the power cord is securely connected to the TV.
Check the TV settings: Try resetting the TV to its default settings. On most TVs, this can be done by pressing a specific button on the remote or on the TV itself. Consult your TV's manual for more specific instructions.
Check for interference: If your TV is near any electronic devices, such as a stereo or a cordless phone, move these devices further away from the TV to see if this resolves the problem.
Check for overheating: If your TV is overheating, it may be turning off to protect itself. Make sure that the TV has proper ventilation and is not covered by any objects that may obstruct air flow.
Try a different power outlet: If the issue persists, try plugging the TV into a different electrical outlet to see if this resolves the problem.
Contact the manufacturer: If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to contact the manufacturer of the TV for further assistance.
I'd Guess it'd be something with the lightning or you have to wait for a while for the entire screen to pop up while its turned on thats what happens to my grandma.
Quite a long "description". "How can I fix it without having to check the back of the TV or going to a repairman?" (I altered the spelling etc a little there.)
Answer: Go to the internet and search for "Magic TV Repair Wand" and let me know if you find one---
The main power supply regulator board fault. It will be best to replace the power board as card basis rather than trying to repair it. Because, in most cases repair work on this board will be a failure, especially to Plasma displays. If you wish to get more details visit the site linked here. It will help you to an extent, I beleve. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Faults of many popular brand sets are given.
Firstly I would still try a different outlet, you can also try to wiggle the cord at the base of were it comes out of the back of the TV and watch the light for action. If this does not work I would call the manufacture as you dont want to take your tv apart on your own and most likely if the light wont come on at all you are going to need a new power supply or the connection to the board could be lose.
The TV circuitry is designed to protect from power surges. The fuse on the power supply may be blown, or the power supply itself could have taken a hit. I would try to check the fuse first and then if it turns back on... it did it's job!
Try resetting the TV to the factory settings.
Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.
