Tascam dr-1 recording problem

I recently bought the dr-1. I'm trying to get a good recording but it comes out sounding like its running through a phase shifter. What can i do?

There is a "PB Control" button. I had the same problem. You've inadvertently told it to change the speed or something on playback. Make sure that none of the indicators at the top of the screen are active (i.e., white letters on black background). Press the PB Control button to toggle it on/off. Also, any files transferred to a computer will not be affected.

I am having the same phase shifting sound on my playback. Or what I call as a "warbling" sound.

You dont hear on the monitor but it comes out on the final playback. All effects and speed controls are off. This is frustrating as I was sure I hit some switch but cant find a solution. I have contacted Tascam for help. It worked fine for a year prior to this.

How do I recovered deleted files from a Tascam DR-1MP3 player

Hi! As far as I can tell, there is no way to recover anything deleted off the recorder (found this out the hard way!) Best advice I can give is back it up on a hard drive asap before deletion. That way your material can be put back onto the device at a later date. It\'s a pain but it\'s saved me a few times!

Sorry I couldn\'t be more help!

Tascam 488 Tape Recorder

Have you tried playing the tape in another device? Adjusting the recording volume if that is an option? Look for the user manual pdf online and also try a brand new or different brand tape to ensure that is not the problem.

Tascam DR-05 Blank Screen

Always do the easy thing first, make sure your batteries are good and in right. You may not have the back light on. In your menu scroll down to "other", scroll over to the right. Scroll down to "system", scroll over to the right. Scroll down to "back light", over to the right then move up or down for how ever long you want the black light to stay on.

My tascam dr 100 gives a 'writing failed' file error' message and stops recording

Try using a smaller memory card. This only happens to me when using a 4- or 8-gig card. 2-gig and below, No error.

Bought a new sd card and the tascam dr-1 reads it as protected

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

DR-1 MAC FINDER does not see it!

I had a similar problem. What i did was to replace the tascam provided cable with another one (similar) from Iriver t30. works wonders. found out that the original cable couldnt plugged in properly to tascam although it did recharge the unit.

Hope that helps.

Tascam CD-RW4U

Try adjusting the input level so the meter stays close to 0 when recording. It sounds like the levels are too hot.

US-144 noise

Hi

Usually Noise comes from distortion such as Electricity (50-60Hz), Main reason audio input cables might have shielding problem. Make sure cable is connected well and shield is not destroyed. You can understand it when you unplug the input connection and use the Computer volume by playing a digital media. If distortion persists contact to TASCAM @+1-323-727-7617

Good Luck
