SOURCE: Quickbooks Pro 2008 Payroll problem

Same thing here when attempting to "send payroll data", though mine's with pro 2009. I found this KB item which indicated that I should update:

http://payroll.intuit.com/support/kb/kbitem/1009052.html

I followed the update instructions here:

http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/productupdates.aspx

Even though my update status was "nothing new" for each category, I hit the "Update Now" button anyway (it was enabled, why not?). It went through the motions of updating (even though there was nothing to update). When it finished, I closed and re-opened QB, then I was able to send the payroll data. This software is far from the gold standard I thought it was going to be.

Suretrak is not fully compatible with Windows 7. We have talked to Primavera on this issue and they say they will continue to support Suretrak for at least another year but have no plans to upgrade Suretrak to the Windows 7 platform.

SOURCE: I have the cosmi 20,000 recipies perogram in my

i think u are probably out of luck. this software looks like it came from the late 90s and will work with anything up to xp, but vista & win7 are a whole different ballgame. best solution, buy an old laptop with win98 or 2000 or xp super cheap on ebay, or beg one from a friend, and use ur software on it there in the kitchen. that's what i do with my old laptop. works great if u have room in the kitchen lol

also transfer ur fave recipes from 20,000 recipes to a recipe organizer program like mastercook, it's much much better for searching plus u can enter 1000s of new recipes from anywhere. u can get older versions of mastercook for $5 on ebay. version 8 works just great for me with winxp. (WARNING if ur interested in mastercook on ur NEW computer, get version 11, the older ones DON'T work w/Vista or win7.)

How to uppdate from Windows Xp into Windows7 I

Well, it depends on your computer specification because every operating system has it own hardware requirements. Before upgrading to windows 7 make it sure your motherboard support the windows 7 operating system. In your case your motherboard supported by the windows 7 so when upgrading rather formatting your computer you must have the windows 7 installer. Then follow this video tutorial on how to setup your computer to windows 7. Before formatting you must have to back up all your data or files saved on your hard drive. Have a nice day

tip

Windows Installation Disc VS Windows Upgrade Disc -NOT THE SAME-

Having Trouble Booting To Your Windows Upgrade Disc?

...Upgrade discs aren't bootable discs. To repair a windows installation, you must use either a system repair disc or, better yet, a windows installation disc (genuine Retail/OEM discs are pretty much your only option to completely reinstall your windows operating system, unless you own a previous full installation disc of a previously released Windows version (such as XP or Vista), in which case you could install that windows operating system and then upgrade to a newer windows OS like windows 7. however if you ever need to reinstall windows 7, you would either need to reinstall the older windows OS, then upgrade to the newer one.

If that isn't clear, I'll sum it up....

Let's say you bought a computer, that computer had windows xp home edition. Maybe you wanted to upgrade from Windows XP/Windows Vista or Windows 7?
Well in order to switch from Windows XP/Vista to Windows 7, (or even from Windows 7 home premium- to windows7 Pro or Ultimate), then you must either:
A) Buy an upgrade disc and upgrade to the newer desired version.
B) Or, Buy a Retail Copy of the version you want to install. (keep in mind that a retail Windows 7 disc can be used to perform an upgrade rather than to competely wipe the hard disc and perform a clean install (delete partitions, reformat, and perform a new windows installation), if you so choose.

The bottom line is, you cannot Install a fresh clean copy of windows using an upgrade disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and Retail Windows Operation System Installation Setup Discs are "Bootable Discs". Windows Upgrade Discs are NOT bootable. (unless one where to "modify that particular disc, which is not legal).

NO you cannot, on that same computer, no matter what OS, because, you MUST change your central Processing Unit, CPU. To allow Windows 7 to work correctly.

We purchase a new Compaq computer in September2009. We received our upgrade to windows 7. The product key is invalid and on the computer screen it says that this copy of Windows is not genuine - Build...

NO PC stated, just Compaq.
NO OS stated. xp to w7, you did not say from ?what.
this error happens if MS thinks XP is pirated.
The w7 disk words on top tell the real story,
upgrade, but is it a real MS, retail disk.
all the words on the disk tell me what it really is. post a photo?
if the PC is still original. (say HP XP unchanged)
the OS you run is from HP not MS.
that is why MS told you to call HP.
The HP software disk are custom to your PC.
unique. (windows, drivers and key HP apps)

The COA sticker on the bottom (license to use HP windows)
is a HP only license , called OEM.
that is why MS told you to ask HP.

best is to reload the OS.

if the PC was not slammed by others.
means someone put wrong OS on it. or pirated.
or new HDD swapped, or erased hdd.
then the F11 key works.
Restore F11, XP and then upgrade to W7.
Upgrages btw love to fail, its in the CARDS.
vast reasons for it, #1 is XP infections
XP has over 700 exploits, and love to fail
and upgrades as SIDE show fail.

boot the PC by power on and instantly hammer the F11 key the runs the HP Recovery off the original
HP Hard disk partition of same name.

if that is missing F11 feature.
then you have 2 choices
1: get the HP install media from HP. call them.
2; or buy a retail MS windows 7 disk. $120

see below for #2 above
its best to keep restore media on any owned

PC so when the hard drive fails, you are ready.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07143

here is the other way, from MS

most stores sell w7-32bit home.

here is one
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Microsoft-Windows-7-Home-Premium-with-SP1-32-bit-Operating-System-PC/36009633

also at newegg
and at amazon.
this is retail disk and runs on most PC made.
after using retail disk

better is to buy a used PC with w7 on it
so you get HP support and MS support.

Does QuickBooksPro 2005 version run with windows vista

I think Intuit draws the support line at 3 years Even though you have probably registered your product, if there is any trouble with it and the new computer, you will be on your own. I think you would be putting yourself in unnecessary jeopardy to upgrade as you describe at this time. (Your business depends on your computer and software, to operate) You must also be aware of Vista troubles.

If you are in the market for a new computer, you may opt for the new Windows 7 OS and possibly upgrade your Quickbooks at the same time for maximum benefit.

If you have the Vista computer - you already have the Quickbooks, it costs nothing to give it a try. Presumably, you have a XP computer with Quickbooks on it now ... If the Vista - Quickbooks combo doesn't work out you could upgrade the Vista to Windows 7 ... you have nothing to loose in this senerio.

I hope I have provided a little insight for you to consider.

Will WIndows upgrade affect QB Basic Ed 2003?

I cant seem to find the manual for OS support. If windows XP is supported, the program works the same. For Vista and Win7 don't know really. Always when you're in doubt, makes the backup default.

I've upgraded my QP Pro Contractor 2006 to my new computer Vista 64. I do not seem to be able to upload/restore companies from 06 to 09, it just will not take the data.

2006 was not designed for operating in Vista. If the data files are not upgrading to Version 2009, it usually indicates data damage in the file. It will probably need to be rebuilt in 2006, then updated.
