SOURCE: microphone not working

It sounds to me like your sound/audio circuitry/card is failing, especially because you mention using two different mics. There's probably a component that is getting too hot and causing the problem.
If your PC is under warranty, you might want take it in for diagnosis and repair.
But it wouldn't hurt to try another microphone just to rule the microphone out for sure.
Good luck.

SOURCE: My microphone on my acer aspire one isnt working

in control panel, click on Sounds and Audio Devices, click on the Voice Tab, Under Voice recording, click on volume --- make sure the mute box is not checked under microphone. If it is, uncheck it. A faster way to do this is to double-click the little speaker icon in your systray in the lower right corner of your screen - right before where the time is shown. If the mute box is unchecked, make sure your mic jack is fully inserted into the correct receptacle.  DID THIS HELP YOU?  Please post your feedback.

SOURCE: Acer Aspire internal mic won't work.

You need to check the record settings and make sure the mic is not muted or turned down to low. Click START, CONTROL PANEL, then SOUND icon. Click the AUDIO tab up top. Make sure that your sound card is selected in the drop down menu under Sound Recording. Now click VOLUME tab. A new window will open up. Click OPTIONS then PROPERTIES. Make sure you have a check by the MIC and click OK. In the Recording Control window, turn the level up for Microphone and make sure it is not muted. Let me know what happens.

SOURCE: my dell inspiron 1525 microphone does not record.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. I used Skype ages ago and returned to it a couple of days ago. No one could hear me. I researched for 20 hours, downloading drivers, checking EVERY setting possible and NOW have got the ANSWER. The wires in the Microphone Array are fatigued. My microphone works perfectly when I tilt my lcd screen half way down. Go to Webcam Manager, Tools, Audio controls, the microphone has 2 bars which go green when you talk into it. Tilt your screen and watch the bars go up and down. Not the answer you probably wanted but as long as you skype with your screen half tilted everything is good to go

Can I use a plug in microphone to use skype on a Dell precision M70

I haven't set up Skype before, but it seems quite reasonable that if the Sound control panel is set to use the external microphone, that would work. Have you checked to see if the sound input is set to an internal microphone built into the laptop, or a line-level input? That could be your problem, especially if no such microphone is present.

Im using acer aspire 4732Z. When i use skype the other person cannot hear my voice? What might be the problem? do i need a separate microphone?

Good day,

I will first want to ask that do your laptop have a built in microphone like that use for speech recognition? If yes, has your skype account been configured to use this microphone? if no, configure that in the settings tab of your skype account.
If your laptop do not have an in built microphone then get a head phone that has a microphone attached to it and configure it in your skype account.

Skype video using Acer Aspire Mini Laptop camera?

If you have a WEB camera you need to configure your video Webcam settings. Open Skype click on Tools - Options - Video Settings - select your Webcam model. When you open Skype click on Tools - Options - Audio Settings and click on Microphone and select the microphone you are using and save the setting.
If you still have problems with your mic. then - To test if the microphone is working, go to Start - Programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Sound Recorder and record you voice. Can you see your voice recording, the green line should vary as you speek.
If you see a flat green line, then the microphone is either faulty or the wrong microphone is selected.
