No picture when TV is turned on, sound is OK

When the TV is turned on there is nothing on the screen. Sounds comes on OK after the normal 'warmup" time. This used to be an intermittent problem...if you waited 10 minutes the picture would come on all of a sudden. Some other tech references have suggested a bad flyback. Another user seems to have posted a similar problem for the same model. thx

Lets try something ,turn the set on and put you forearm in the face of the picture tube if your hair stand to static it means you have high voltage and your set is missing possible the screen or filaments volts,if the hair in your arm does not stand your set is missing the high voltage and the problem is related to the flyback but it does not mean is bad ,it could have a loose conection in one of the legs or in the near area, next time it happens tap on the side of the set to see if it reacts if it does you know you have a loose conection. If you are familiar with tv service this will be a good place to start but if you are not too familiar be safe and call for assistance from a servicer.Let Us know if you need more information and how it goes.

I have a Philips Matchine television which does a similar thing, the problem is in the receiver part of the set, where I have traced the Video signal with an Oscilloscope to a particular Chip (Integrated Circuit). By increasing the Contrast to maximum the picture can be brought back again, but still lacks contrast. The fault is varies as the chip warms up. Therefore you can locate the chip by cooling or heating it from a special non inflammable spray can. Have you tried the scart input which may work OK, then you can use the television as a monitor, as I do. Cost of repair is not worth it.

SOURCE: No picture when TV is turned on, sound is OK

try to look at its circuit board and look for cold solder or loose solders usually solders with crack, they might be the problem,i dont think its the flyback coz you have audio.try also look at its picture tube at the back tru the crt if the filament is ok or it may also have loose connections

No picture, no menu, black screen, no raster, sound ok

From your detailed description, it sounds that the main chroma processor IC has damaged. Raster means nothing, but the lighted screen that appears, when a TV is switched ON. For some brands, there will be a blue screen; when there is no signal input, and some others will have a bright white screen with some snow.
I advice you to contact any service technician, to get this TV repaired. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box and press "Enter".

Black screen only on new LCD

Sounds like the video board when bad. I would say the TV went defective. Use the 90 day warranty to exchange for a new one.
Always use warranty at this point because the newer TV coming out in these days have very lame warranty.

No picture yet i can hear sound green effect before it happend

First thing would be to make sure that you're only using the yellow, red, and white cables, but seeing as how you said you had picture before, I'm guessing that's not the problem. The 360 uses an automatic recognition for the hardware to make sure that it is set to the right input. So, in essence, it won't be that the settings were changed. I would say go pick up a new cable and see if that's the problem, it sounds like it is. If the cable doesn't solve it then I would say it's time to call Microsoft. For the guest with nothing working, call up Microsoft, I really don't know what else the problem could be except for hardware.

SHARP 37HV6U No picture until long warmup

Alas, it sounds like something could be quite wrong, or it could be as simple as needing a reset. Unplug the unit, wait a minute then replug it and see what happens.

Turning on TV after power outage

Not sure what you mean by "older", but I assume it's a CRT display. It takes some time for a picture tube to come up from a completely cold start. It has to get all of those electrons hot enough to start flying around, and also build up a high voltage on the screen. You don't notice it in normal operation because the power button doesn't really turn everything off, but just puts the set in standby mode. Unplugging, though, lets everything cool off completely.

If you're talking real antiques, with tube-type amplifiers, then the warmup time could be even longer. I remember as a kid watching the blank screen for a couple of minutes before a picture appeared.

What you describe sounds like normal behavior for a CRT television. Not sure what's up with that flickering red light, though.
