How do I get videos from camera onto PC? panasonic VDR-M30PP

I have a panasonic VDR-M30PP. I finish recording a disk in the camera, and try to plug it into my computer and nothing happens, it doesnt auto detect or anything. When I try to load manually, by clicking on G drive, it says not accessable, incorrect function. Also, when I take the disk out of the camera and try to just play it solo in the computer or my home DVD, PS2, etc. it will not read the disk either. I've been hearing talk about finalizing or something, but I thought my camera does it automatically when I am done recording the disk? There is no finalize button or option on the camera that I can see. Please help, as I am ready to sell this THING!! thanks

Sorry for asking, but have you installed the drivers that came with the camera onto your pc, because some of the software has this built in to enable you do as you wish with the recordings. Also PS2 consoles dont play all types of DVD especially DVD-RW, but normally DVD do have to be finalised before they are playable. If all else fails just uninstall the drivers that you got with camera and re-install before connecting your camera back up, if they were installed initially. Normally it's wise to install all the software bundle that comes with it, then later remove what you don't need and don't have more than one editing programme installed as they can conflict stopping your downloads. Hope this helps.

I accidently formated my panasonic VDR-D210 DVD using the DVD recorder menu. Can I unformat the DVD and recover my video?

When you reformat again using the proper disk, you should be ok with formatting. Whether or not you can recover the video is yet to be seen. Regards, Joe

Panasonic vdr-50 comes with software that you MUST use to move your video from the dvd to your PC. It saves it as a gigantic mpeg. Problem with the software is - it's junk. No simple function such as file...

I do not use panasonic software, it useless.
I inserted (RAM or Finalized disk) onto the PC
and used convertxtodvd (software) to convert VRO to (DVD-VOB) (no problems)
I used dvd shrink to combine multiple 30minutes disks onto a single dvd. I reformatted the RAM disk for future use
I have to agree that vdr-50 is a piece of junk.
Many time it got Data Error or CRC error, is like random.
The battery life shorten very fast even is a 6 hours battery
, do not know why , no help from Tech Support

Finalizing

IF THAT DISC WAS RECORDED ON AND THEN REMOVED BEFORE FINALIZING IT WILL NOT FINALIZE. THE CAMERA LOOSES THE MAIN INFORMATION TABLE FOR THAT RECORDING. ONLY THING TO DO NOW IS, IF THE DISC CAN STILL PLAYBACK ON THE CAMERA THEN CONNECT IT TO A DVD RECORDER VIA THE AV PORT AND RECORD.

Error code 2881

I found this problem only when I tried to use a RW disk. The camera will not use a rewritable disk. I reformated the disk in my computer but it still would not work in the camera.

DVD dies if I try to record to the end

DVD dies if I try to record to the end I'm not sure if this relates or not. I have a Sony DVR-10 stand alone DVD recorder and if I'm using DVD+R I have to leave some time for the DVD to be finalize. If I record all the way to end I just made coaster. Now if I use a DVD+RW I don't have to finalize, I can play it in a PC but not a DVD player. So to be safe I now record on DVD+RW and then just copy it to DVD+R or -R on the PC.
