I have a GE Profile (#PSC23SGRB) side by side refrigerator that is about 7 years old. The light comes on when I open the door of the fridge and freezer but that is all. The whole thing is dead. Not cooling either fridge or freezer. No lights on panel for ice, or for control panel in the fridge. What can I do? Is it fixable?

The freezer switch/thermostat is almost certainly bad. If you are sure your turning it on, and nothing happens, it is very likely bad.

If you have a multimeter, you can check and be sure that your getting power to this switch...and then with it in the "ON" position, check for power through the switch.

If you do not own a multimeter, you may wind up saving money to go ahead and call a service man. Otherwise, just to replace a part that you cannot check is a roll of the dice.

Refrigerator light does not work on ge profile

Check for voltage at the light receptacle, and then try to find the wire from the door switch. There should be a schematic on the back of the fridge. The switch can wear out after ten years.

Freezer works but frigde isn't working

once ice forms on the freezer coils there is no air flow. I had the same thing. I suspect your defrost cycle is compromised. Could be the bimetal switch, defrost timer or defrost heater element.

Ge Profile Stainless Steel Refrigerator panel replacement

You can replace the doors but you will think you bought a new frig when you see what they cost. Most come as an assembly and are very expensive.

Front dispenser On GE stainless side by side

Could be the connector at the bottom of the freezer door corroded but it could also be the main PCB failing as the low voltage power supply may be dropping out . By the 'light inside' do you mean in the dispenser or inside the fridge ??

GE Arctica Profile getting too cold, temp set to 37 actual temp is 25-35

Wow, so you dropped some money into it, eh? I would take a look at the damper door asslb(DIFFUSER). located at the very top left of your refrigerator section in back. It has a motorized door that opens and close's and it may be stuck open. More than likely it is broken and needs to be replaced. GOODLUCK!!!!

FYI: All your cold air in your refrigerator comes from your freezer!
