I had this pioneer since 2001 and no problems until last week. I was playing a moving and all of a sudden I had loud static though my speakers. So loud my daughters started to cry. Now I will get about 20 seconds of sound ie radion station, cd, and surround and the loud static starts cracking through the speakers. Is my reciever done, or a easy fix.
Its over heating no cheap fix. But wait if u buy an eternal fan n place it on top or behind it will do the trick. Try blowing on top when static happens n sound comes back on.

I know this is an old post but run front speaker outputs to the inputs on the sub then from the sub to the front speakers. bam!! it should work

My Teac AG-V8060 does the same thing. previous owner said it would happen but I have been using it for a few years and no issue until last week. After 3 minutes or so being on playing at a moderate volume, very loud static began to come out of the left front channel. I'm not sure what speaker mode it was in, I was just concerned about shutting it off so my nice speakers wouldn't fry.
I turned it back on to see if it was temporary, and of course it happened again only after a couple seconds.
So it's sitting on my bed, open, and i can't find anything loose but i'm guessing i have a loose solder or bad something that craps out when it warms up.
any help is greatly appriciated, i can't afford a new system right now and that means I have several large speakers taking up space and a small shelf system for my music! gah....
I have the same problem with this same model around the same time you posted. I checked all the speaker wiring but was unable to fix it. My 13 yr old son later told me to disconnect the power to the unit. I do not remember whether that resolved the issue right afterward. Since then the problem went away.
