MP3 players use the USB cable to charge from the USB port on a computer. You can also charge the MP3 player using a 5 volt USB charge adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet. These adapters are available on the Internet.
The MP3 player is charged by connecting the supplied USB cable to the
MP3 player and then plugging the other end of the USB cable into the USB
port of a working computer. You can also purchase a 5 volt mains USB adapter. Connect the MP3 player and USB cable to this 5 volt mains USB adapter to charge the MP3 player.
I don't know if there's a software available right now, but that's not a shoe stopper. You can still be able to copy musics or any other file from/to your player to/from a Computer using it as an external drive; for that you have to chenge the settings from Charge to removable disk on menu/settings/system/PC connect mode.
If you have a dealer close to you that's your solution, a part from that you can either just surf on the web,in any searching engine or change the settings on your player to use your USB port to computer for charging instead as an external drive. For the last suggestion follow these easy steps:
1.Press menu on Player 2.Select Settings 3. Under settings shown choose System 4.Pc Connect mode 5.Click on Charge
I had the same problem - the hard drive had failed, which is a common fault. I bought a new one on eBay - a Toshiba MK3006GAL 30GB - which worked fine.
BUT... the drive came completely unformatted and I had to format it on a laptop first as I could not get it to format in the YH-J70. If the drive is FAT32 format, however, you should be OK to just put it in the YH-J70 and format it with Samsung Media Studio.
When I first got my yh j70 I had the same problem. Have you made sure its in 'charge' mode? When you go to 'settings' there is an option tha allows you to switch from 'charge' mode to USB connect mode. You have to switch it depending on what you are trying to do. Hope this helps.
