As per the title, when I sitch my monitor or my pc on, sometimes I just get a green flashing light on my monitor with no picture.. It can take up to 15 mins for the flatron splash screen to appear. I orginally thought it may be a cooling off period after having it switched on for a while, but I had the monitor turned off overnight whilst I was downloading, and when I switched it on, I had to wait 10 mins before I got a picture. I am running WinXP Pro, and have all power management features turned off in both Windows and BIOS.. If someone could give me a clue as to what's happening, it'd be appreciated... Thanks Wizborg.
That is a defect with those monitors...you should get the returned to the store...if you can't then you may have to do some soldering dude...it is a power issue with the monitor itself...you will need to find the replacement capacitor inside..but still the best advice is to return the product
Jus like to say i just did the folding the screen up thing while the pc was booted and the screen appeared... so give it ago .
The problem with older builds of this monitor is in the power card. It suffers from dry solder joints and the capacitors can fail. Image of how to repair here: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/leemcgeorge/OddFolder/Repair%20LG1715s.jpg
The L1715 screens have a issue with the internal powersupply. You get it fixed on the warranty
Same is happening with my L1710S. I believe it could be an internal power issue. Plugging out the video cable does nothing, the green light flashes. Turning off the computer, same thing. But when the computer is off, unplug the power, wait for the light to go out and plug it in again - start up the computer and hey presto..video display! I'd get it attended to asap, 3 year warranty :)
The exact same is happening to my flatron L1715S monitor, and its only been out of the packaging just over a week now. Initially I was using the workaround of turning it on then back on and it would show the flatron logo and work but now that doesn't work any more and no matter how long its left on for, or how many times its turned on & off it just gives the same flashing green light with no display. You will never guess what, earlier after reading this post, I somehow managed to make it work properly and it displays the flatron logo and works properly each and every time its turned on. I done this by booting the pc, then while the monitor is ON and flashing green I slowly moved it down into the fully folded position, then miraculously windows was displayed once again at this stage and I slowly moved it back to an upright position. But if this method works for you it still doesn't mean you shouldn't get it seen to if its under warranty.

My Dad helped me buy my computer when I went off to school and he has all the info (at least I hope he still does) any chance of the monitor itself coming with a warrenty instead of the whole computer package?
