I have a Panasonic PV GS39 mini DV camcorder.

A little sea water splashed on my camcorder and after that I have been experiencing the following problem. In tape recording mode or card recording mode, when the LCD is closed and the EVF set is extended the cam corder is getting switched off. In play back mode I am able to view in the EVF set. Please suggest a good solution for me.

SOURCE: Describe your Panasonic PV-GS35 Mini DV Digital

There was an earlier post that explained the black ribbon between the LCD viewfinder and the body of the camera is split. You would have to buy a new LCD viewfinder for about $90 or send it back to them to fix for around $250. The same thing happened to my camera and I can actually is the split. If you close it down more than half way the picture shows up. I called Panasonic and they said you have to buy the whole LCD, that you can't just buy the ribbon. They don't even have a part number for just the ribbon. Good luck.

SOURCE: My windows 7 laptop does not recognize my

You are going to have to check that your firewire is being seen by windows 7 first of all. If not you will need to rectify that.
When you do get it to recognize it, here is a link for an update to the program that came with your camcorder for it to work with Windows Vista but it should also work for Windows 7.

Install the drivers and you should be good to go! Let me know if you're having any problems after that.

Help my

If you have the PV-GS39 Camcorder and are wanting to COPY THE VIDEO FROM THE PV-GS39'S DV TAPE, HERE IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO...........

1.Go to: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/MiniDV-Camcorders/Drivers-Downloads/model.PV-GS39.D

the above link will take you RIGHT to the web page to download the PV-GS39 Software & Drivers that YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE. But if you have WINDOWS VISTA then you can use the WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER software that is ALREADY PRE-INSTALLED on your PC then you will NOT have to download the software from the above link.

2. You HAVE TO have a: FIREWIRE IEEE 1394 PCMCIA NOTEBOOK CARD. I got mine at: Best Buy for: $53.86 with taxes. the name of this card is: DYNEX FIREWIRE IEEE 1394 PCMCIA NOTEBOOK CARD.

3. You ALSO hae to buy the CORD that connects to the PV-GS39 and the DYNEX FIREWIRE IEEE 1394 PCMCIA NOTEBOOK CARD, the cord costs $36.79 ALSO at Best Buy.

I did ALL 3 of the above and now I'm copying my movies and videos from my tape in my camcorder onto my PC and BURNING the video onto DVD/CD Disks.

If you have any questions, you can email me at: [email protected].

Sincerely,
Rick D. Michaels

PV-GS39 less than one year old

if the camera is giving you power problems, then it is recommened that a qualified panasonic technician assist you in finding the fault. This means that the camera must be taken to your local panasonic repair centre.
