The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

Please ensure the drives are installed properly. You should be having these in the installation kit, that comes bundled with the camera. Then try downloading the images

(or)

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 stores images in an SD Type memory device. You can remove the SD memory out and insert it to a card reader. You can get it for as low as Rs 150. This is just an workaround.

Do you have a USB card reader? Just take the card from the camera, pop into the reader, and you can transfer your photos.
No drivers required unless using Windows 98 or earlier.

Also, the model is wrong, do you mean TZ5? You should be able download software for the camera from www.panasonic.com

Hi,
I have the same camera but its lens zoom assembly is broken and now does 'nt work. However, I never needed any cd to down load from sd card to either Laptop or Tv. Lap top has the sd card slot failing which you could use an sd card adapter(can give it to you free if you are in delhi) with usb connector to connect to your computer which may help in downloading.Alternatively, a a usb cable connector from camera to computer should also do.All the [email protected] [email protected]

Dear Sir/Madam I have lost the software Cd of my Panasonic DmcFZ8. where can i down load the software. My video is capturing videos but after down loading it shows as a stil Pictures only my mail id is...

Hi Charles - Panasonic doesn't offer software downloads for this camera - it may be due to the sheer volume ans size of the files on the disk. You can check out Panasonic support page for your camera here:

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Digital-Cameras/Lumix-Digital-Cameras/model.DMC-FZ8K

On that same page are ways listed to contact them via Phone, Email and Mail. I'm sure you can get the info you're looking for by contacting them directly.

I hope you found this Very Helpful and good luck!

You should be able to download your pictures with almost any graphics program. You can also use the program that came on lab lade disks a few years ago. You can try the manufacturer for a program, if you registered when you bought it.

Lumix Simple Viewer - Copying files to CD

I have "acquired" photographs from my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX 8 using Lumix Simple Viewer onto my computer, and I am able to view them. However, I need them in a format that I can now copy them onto a CD or attach them as files to emails (without using the "Send by e-mail" function). I am sure this is simple, but is anyone able to help me?
