Question about Apple iPad HD
I was watching Batman Dark Knight on my new iPad and for some reason the screen seemed weird and cut off. It's not an issue with the quality of the screen (the new HD screen is really nice), it's an issue with how the screen is displayed. Is there any way I would be able to fix this issue? I wouldn't say it makes the movie unwatchable but I would say that it makes them much more difficult to fully enjoy.
I answered this before. Please look at all answered problems before asking questions. Others have probably already given you the information.
Here is my answer:
There is no way to edit the screen ratio on the new iPad or any iPad for that matter. They went with 4:3 because the majority of users use the device to browse the internet and read e-magazines or e-books on it. As you know the screen gets cut off when you go to fullscreen or it has those annoying black bars above and below.
If you're looking to watch video do it on a computer or your TV. The new iPad isn't made for heavy video watching IMO.

Double tap the screen while watching the video and see if that "fixes" the issue. This will change the display size of the video between "full screen" and "fit". Full screen will essentially zoom in on the video until the entire screen is used, but cut off the edges of the video...which sounds like what you are experiencing.

Well, the new iPad only supports to playback videos in MP4, MOV, M4V format. So, if want to watch 1080p MKV videos on the new iPad in 1080p, you need to convert the 1080p MKV to 1080p MP4 format first. From Google search comes this following guide shows you how to convert 1080p MKV video to 1080p MP4 for the new iPad.

You are able to use any appstore app with the iPad. Make sure your iPad is listed as a connected device in the left side bar of iTunes. Check your sync settings to make sure they're set to sync with your iPad and if needed restore your iPad using the restore button and try to sync again.
To make an application fullscreeen tap the small "2x" button in the bottom corner of your iPad. This will upscale the app to fullscreen.
Hope this helps, if you found this helpful please leave some feedback. Thanks.

There may be an app for that but haven't found it yet.Use a free software program like freemake video converter to convert movie to correct format then add to itunes list to send to ipad.Very easy to use program with lots of converting options. You can also convert straight from non copyrigted dvds you already own. They also make a video downloader for youtube and other sites.Get it at freemake.com.
