Self- reboots at start-up, then shows picture but with pink dots.

Howdy,
It sounds like you have a Power Supply Board problem. The PSB is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM811, CM812, CM817 & CS806; 1000ufd 25volts. It is the board to the left and you notice that the four cap tops are swollen.
It is easy to replace get a stanard solder pencil and you are in business.

Thanks for using FIXA, BIG IRISH.

What is broken my hdmi cable,ps3 unit or the hdtv?

I would suggest this (you haven't said what kind of tv you have). I have a 37 in vizio, and a 25 vizio flatscreen HD tv. I had my PS3 hooked up using HDMI first time I tried it I got the little pixels you were talking about...so do this. Sounds stupid but it helped me. The HDMI cable where it plugs into the tv plug and unplug a couple times (three times worked for me. Do the same at the PS3 side of the cable. You want to do this with both of the machines off. Also make sure you have the PS3 configured appropriately for your TV settings...There is a way you can auto setup the screen and sound by shutting the PS3 off and holding your finger on the power button for like 5-10 seconds (it will beep twice) then let your finger off the power button.

When my HDMI cable went bad it would go from having a picture and sound to having no sound and a picture, to no sound and no picture. I thought I had a bad HDMI slot...but it was just a bad HDMI cable

Sanyo HD Tv

Sanyo makes excellent TV`s. You may have weak electeolytic capacitors in the power suppy causing the delay in starting up. It might be worth it to have a shop look it for you

Green dot in middile of my screen

The green dot in the center sounds like a burn mark on one or more of the picture tubes inside the set, and the curved lines are telling me that you have a problem in the convergence circuits. The blue haze around everything white tells me you either have a lot of dust build up on the lens over the CRTs, or your picture tube(s) are very weak. If this set is over about 12 years old, I would replace it. I doubt if you will be able to get the green dot out of the picture without changing the tubes which would be VERY expensive.
