Lights will come one when key is turned over, but then you try to start it and it just clicks. If you try again, the lights won't come on at all. Tried jumping it, but nothing happens. Seems almost like there is some kind of delay because then the lights will turn on later, but still won't start. ????
Sounds like your battery is just too dead, has enough juice to light up the system for a minute but cranking drains it and if it wont charge then deff fried, you could try removing the battery and starting the car with cables to confirm the starter still works. If a bettery is too dead then when you are jumping it, it takes to much of the power just trying to get through the battery.

sounds to me that you have an igniton problem not a starter problem and or if you have or had an alarm system could be cause if u do give me feedback and i will explain but seems that your starter is fine from what u say but if you think in terms of the elemts to start a vehicle batery gives pwoer to ignition which sends to starter which gives spark etc i would check you ignition system something is causeing a short and not alowing starter to function

you definitely need a new battery. replace it, and have the charging system checked when you do. If you do it yourself, use a volt meter to make sure that your battery is holding at least 14 volts when the car is running. anything less, and your alternator is bad. I dont think your alternator would be bad, though. your whole engine and transmission is electronically controlled and runs off of the power generated by the alternator. the battery is primarily there to start the car. without the power generated form the alternator, all of these things start drawing power from the battery. and since the battery cant recharge itself, it will eventually die, and so will your car. so, my guess is your battery just went bad, and your charging system is good. have it checked just to be on the safe side though.

yes theres is, try locking and unlocking the pass/side door with the key. you can check for power at the starter at the small wire if theres power at that wire when the key is held in the crank position then you have a bad starter try taping on starter while key is held in start if its starts when tapping then starter is bad, heres a diagram to show you were to tap and where to check for power, hope this helps.
